Canada’s largest wireless carrier, Rogers Wireless, is apparently fixing to roll out the Marshmallow treatment to a number of premium smartphones on its network, including two of HTC’s premium devices – the One M8 from last year and the One M9, which was launched earlier this year by the Taiwanese smartphone vendor. Alongside these two handsets, the carrier is also slated to push the latest and greatest version of Android to the Moto X and the LG G4. The later of course, happens to be the 2015 flagship smartphone for LG Electronics, and was launched by the South Korean consumer electronics company back in April this year. While Rogers lists the One M8 and the Moto X updates as ‘Coming Soon’, the One M9 and the LG G4 will apparently receive their scheduled updates in late January, as per the listing on the official website of the carrier.

Canadian carriers have begun rolling out the latest version of Android to devices like the Moto X (2014 model) and the HTC One M8 over the past few days. It was only last week that two other carriers, Telus and Koodo, had started updating the two aforementioned handsets on their respective networks to Marshmallow, meaning, users of the two devices on other networks also have reasons to believe that the updates for their versions of the phones must be just around the corner. As for the LG G4, the T-Mobile version of the device started receiving the update earlier this month in the US, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that the Canadian versions of the device have now started getting their due.

The LG G4 is this year’s flagship smartphone from the South Korean consumer electronics company, as mentioned already. The device features a curved 5.5 inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) display, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 SoC. The smartphone comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of built-in storage. The device comes with a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera capable of recoding 4K videos at 30 fps and an 8 megapixel front-facing camera capable of recording 1080p videos at 30 fps. The removable battery in the G4 is rated at 3,000 mAh, and connectivity options for the device include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and Cat.6 LTE. The LG G4 comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, with LG’s proprietary Optimus UI laid on top.
