ASUS has just announced the ZenFone Max Pro M1 in India, the company’s all-new mid-range handset. This smartphone’s specs surfaced recently, and that leak was spot on. The ZenFone Max Pro M1 is made out of metal, it sports a vertically-aligned dual camera setup on the back, while an LED flash sits right below those two cameras. A fingerprint scanner is also included on the back of the device, along with the company’s branding. The phone’s power / lock, volume up and volume down buttons sit on the right, while its SIM card tray is accessible from the left.

This handset features a 5.99-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it, while the device packs in 3GB / 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card). The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 636 64-bit octa-core processor, which comes with the Adreno 509 GPU. 13 and 5-megapixel cameras are included on the back of the phone (6GB RAM variant coming with 16 + 5-megapixel camera combo), while an 8-megapixel camera (16-megapixel unit on the 6GB RAM model) sits on the phone’s front side, where you will find a secondary LED flash. A 5,000mAh battery is included in this package as well, while it supports fast charging, we’re guessing Quick Charge 3.0, but no specific info was given by the company. ASUS claims that this battery can provide 25.3 hours of fullHD video playback, up to 42 hours of 3G talk time, and up to 28 hours of browsing over Wi-Fi. This handset comes with two SIM card slots, we’re looking at two nano SIM card slots, and it seems like a microSD card slot is included separately.

Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on the ZenFone Max Pro M1, with ASUS’ custom UI on top of it. A 3.5mm headphone jack is included on the phone as well, while the device comes with a 5-magnet speaker, and NXP Smart Amp. Facial unlocking is also available here, and the tech uses the phone’s front-facing camera(s) in order to scan your face. The device itself weighs 180 grams, while its exact measurements are still not available. The phone comes in Deepsea Black and Gray color variants, its 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 10,999 ($166) in the country, while 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model costs Rs. 12,999 ($196). A 6GB RAM variant with 64GB of storage will cost Rs. 14,999 ($226), and it will become available soon. The first two variants will go on sale on May 3, and will be sold exclusively via Flipkart, while the 6GB RAM model will arrive later on.
