After its debut in Brazil last month, the Moto G6 series is all set to launch in India. The Lenovo-owned brand has confirmed to launch its mid-range series early next month on June 4. Earlier today, a page dedicated to the Moto G6 lineup went live on Amazon India’s website to provide this launch date. It is a usual Amazon.in pre-launch product page that lets the interested buyers drop their email address to receive an update when the Moto G6 series goes on sale while also briefly mentioning about the phone’s design and internals. The company was earlier rumored to launch the 2018 G lineup in the Indian market on May 21 but Motorola stated otherwise only to later confirm its launch by early June.

Of the entire Moto G6 family of smartphones consisting of three mid-range devices, only two models have been announced to debut in India – the Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Play. All the marketing material released by Motorola India mentions only these two phones while the Moto G6 Plus is out of the scene. The smartphone maker started teasing their launch last week across its social media channels and that teaser video too mentioned only the two lower-end devices of the three. Though not officially confirmed, it still remains to be a possibility that the company may bring the Plus variant to India sometime in the following weeks. Back in April, Motorola announced the latest additions to its mid-range G line of smartphones at an event in Brazil together with the entry-level E-series handsets. Yet again, there is no official word on whether the new E-series phones will debut in the South Asian market at the June 4 event or not.

Despite being the lowest-end G6 smartphone, the Moto G6 Play features a massive 4,000mAh battery which is expected to offer an outstanding battery life, considering the phone’s entry-level specs. The G6 lineup is the first in Motorola’s portfolio to get a tall display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and thin bezels. Both the Android phones have a glass-sandwich design and come pre-installed with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Being a more affordable device, the Play model has an HD+ display and a single rear-placed camera, while the Moto G6 includes an FullHD+ display and a dual-camera setup on its back. Motorola is expected to announce their retail pricing for the Indian market on June 4 itself.
