South Korean juggernaut Samsung has already confirmed to announce its mid-range Galaxy J6 smartphone in the Indian market next week. A few days before its announcement, a new report surfaced which suggests the retail price tag that the phone will carry. According to it, the phone will cost Rs. 12,990 (~$191) for its base variant with 3GB of RAM and Rs. 15,990 (~$235) for the 4GB RAM variant. At its May 21 launch in Mumbai, India, the handset is expected to be accompanied by the Galaxy J4 and the Galaxy A6 series. If the previous leaks turn out to be true, the Galaxy J6 will be the first Android smartphone under Samsung’s budget J series to sport an Infinity Display with a tall aspect ratio, which was first seen in the 2017 flagship Galaxy S8 and S8+.

Earlier today, Samsung had tweeted a teaser video for its upcoming Galaxy J6 mid-ranger while a ‘Notify Me’ page on the company’s website is also live. According to both of these, the phone will be available for purchase in stores from May 22, a day after its debut. The said teaser video gives a glimpse at the phone’s front that can be seen boasting thinner bezels along with a front-facing LED flash. The website page, on the other hand, has an image of the phone in blue color showing its bottom that houses a 3.5mm audio out jack and a micro USB port. The interested users can signup with their email addresses to receive updates about the device’s launch. Earlier this week, another report coming out of India suggested a slightly higher price tag for the J6 for the same RAM variants.

A set of photos of the Android smartphone had surfaced showing it from all its sides while also revealing some of its details. Besides an Infinity Display on the front with comparatively thinner top and bottom bezels, the phone will feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner below a single camera unit, a setup that was introduced with the Galaxy A8 lineup. The smartphone is said to feature a Super AMOLED display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio and an HD+ resolution. An in-house Exynos 7870 processor will fuel the device that will come pre-installed with Android 8.0 Oreo. A number of India-focused features like S-Bike and Ultra Data Saving mode are also expected to be a part of the package.
