OnePlus has announced the new OnePlus 7T smartphone, and it’s coming with the new 90Hz Fluid AMOLED display that debuted on the OnePlus 7 Pro earlier this year.

There’s a new design for the OnePlus 7T as well, which mostly revolves around the camera module on the backside. It’s not a circular module, that looks very similar to the Huawei Mate 30 Pro’s. OnePlus says that the curve on the circle’s outer bezel was cut with monocrystalline diamond drills. Which is what makes it so stunning. That’s a process that is typically used for fine jewelry.

90Hz Fluid display comes to the OnePlus 7T

This debuted on the OnePlus 7 Pro back in May, and was met with a ton of praise. Now OnePlus brings it to the OnePlus 7T.

It does have that 90Hz refresh rate, which looks amazing on the OnePlus 7 Pro, and has spoiled everyone for phones that don’t have 90Hz. But that’s not all that OnePlus did with this display.

The company says that it has been spending months optimizing touch circuitry and rendering process to make it almost 38-percent more responsive than the competition. This is a big deal, considering OnePlus smartphones have suffered from plenty of touch issues in previous years.

This Fluid Display is exactly what it sounds like, a super fluid display, and now it’s available on the OnePlus 7T which has a lower-resolution screen, compared to the OnePlus 7 Pro. This screen also has HDR10+ certification, allowing you to watch content from Netflix and other providers in HDR.

OnePlus 7T has an improved camera

OnePlus has again improved the cameras. It’s still a triple-camera setup on the OnePlus 7T, with a 48-megapixel main sensor. The others are a 117-degree ultrawide angle sensor and a 2x Telephoto sensor.

It’s bringing Night Scape to the Ultrawide sensor as well, which is something that was reserved for the main sensor only with previous OnePlus smartphones.

OnePlus is also putting an emphasis on macro photography with the 7T. That’s something that we’ve been seeing more of lately from newer smartphones. That’s thanks to the macro lens that is included in that huge camera module on the back of the OnePlus 7T. With the macro lens, you’ll be able to focus in on subjects that are one-inch away. This is a feature that the HONOR 20 Pro launched with earlier this year, but it wasn’t all that great. Hopefully OnePlus can change that.

Otherwise, this is essentially the same camera setup as the OnePlus 7 series had, when it launched in May.

Flagship specs as expected

Internally, specs are exactly what you’d expect. With the Snapdragon 855 Plus under-the-hood. This processor is going to provide you with 15-percent faster processing. It is also running UFS 3.0 storage, which is very fast, and while you may not see a lot of differences in real life. But it is much faster than the competition. That comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage as well.

There’s also Warp Charge 30T, which is 23-percent faster than the OnePlus 7 series. So you’re going to be able to recharge your phone much faster than you would have in the past. That’s a feature that everyone is going to love.

Stereo speakers are still here on the OnePlus 7T, with Dolby Atmos support. Giving you a really great experience when watching content, especially with the HDR10+ certification as well.

Finally, the OnePlus 7T is the first phone to come with Android 10 out of the box.

Pricing & Availability

The OnePlus 7T will be available from T-Mobile as the exclusive carrier. It’s going to go on sale on October 18 and be priced at $599.
