Qualcomm has revealed that more than 120 smartphones with Snapdragon 888 are currently being developed. This information got revealed by the Chairman of Qualcomm China, Meng Pu, reports Tech Agent, a well-known tipster.
We’ll see quite a few flagship smartphones with the Snapdragon 888 this year, it seems
We’re not sure if all those phones will make it to market, or will they make it to market in 2021, but there you go. Needless to say, that’s a lot of phones, considering that the Snapdragon 888 is a flagship processor.
More devices could end up being developed at some point this year, of course. The Snapdragon 888 has proven to be an excellent chip already, and various smartphone OEMs are trying to get in on the action.
Various well-known smartphone brands will release more than one Snapdragon 888-powered device, and some already did. Samsung announced three Snapdragon 888-powered smartphones already, the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra.
Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and many more OEMs have future plans for this chip
The company will add more devices to that list later this year. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will almost certainly include that chip, and possibly even the Galaxy S21 FE, if it gets announced.
Xiaomi introduced its Mi 11 handset that is fueled by the Snapdragon 888, while the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra are also expected to include that chip. The company’s upcoming Mi MIX handset will also utilize the best of Qualcomm.
OnePlus is preparing several smartphones that will be fueled by this chip. The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are expected to arrive in March, while the company’s 9T series is expected towards the end of the year.
These are only some well-known smartphones that we’ve mentioned here. Many more of them got launched, and many more are coming. That is not surprising considering that the Snapdragon 888 is easily one of the best mobile processors in the market. It has proven to be more powerful than the Exynos 2100 already, at least in benchmarks.
