Samsung started rolling out the August 2024 security update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphone in the US. In addition, the same upgrade is being released for the older Flip models including the Z Flip 4 and Flip 3. The August update was released for the Z Flip series hours after the Galaxy Z Fold variants received it.
Galaxy Z Flip 5, Flip 4, and Flip 3’s August update brings several security improvements
Samsung is first rolling out the August update to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Flip 4, and Flip 3 users in the US. The individual change log of the update is not available at the moment. However, we do know that the August update fixes several security issues of severe to moderate levels. According to Samsung, the August 2024 update is very crucial when it comes to protecting your device from security vulnerabilities.
According to SamMobile, the August update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 carries the build number F731U1UES4CXG6. As for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Flip 3, their updated software build numbers are F711USQS8IXG6 and F721USQS6FXGJ, respectively.
As of now, the new update is available for the Z Flip 4 and Flip 3 users on the AT&T network. Notably, for the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung is rolling it out for the unlocked units. The company is expected to roll out the same updates for other telcos and regions worldwide in the coming weeks.
Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the older clamshell models will get more features soon
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the older clamshell models will be getting a handful of new AI features soon. These enhancements were introduced alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 6 last month. The company will include the new functionalities in the One UI 6.1.1 update, which is expected to start rolling out soon.
After the One UI 6.1.1 update, the brand will roll out the major Android 15-based One UI 7.0 upgrade. The new update has currently been delayed indefinitely. However, it should start rolling out at some point later this year.
