Ulefone has announced that the Armor 28 Ultra series handsets are coming soon, after being announced at IFA 2024. The company refers to this smartphone series as the “ultimate rugged smartphone”. Do note that the phone will arrive in regular and ‘thermal’ variants, hence the ‘series’ part.
The Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra series is coming, consisting of two phone
The names of these two phones will be the Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra and Armor 28 Ultra Thermal Version. The sales are expected to commence in early March, says Ulefone.
The design of this phone is not exactly a secret. The company did show the phone in some of its videos, and we also have an image attached to this article that shows it, not to mention that the phone has seen its full launch at IFA.
You can clearly see that the phone will be grippy based on its design, and it has an interesting camera island design. That top part will stick out a bit, and the focus is definitely on it. There’s also a tiny second display back there, a round one. You can check out one of the videos below.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ SoC will fuel them
These two smartphones will be fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC. They managed to reach a score of over 2.3 million on AnTuTu, and you can see that testing below.
Ulefone also confirmed that a 1-inch Sony IMX989 camera is used on the back, as the phone’s main camera. We’re looking at a 50-megapixel snapper here. A 64-megapixel infrared night vision camera is used on the Armor 28 Ultra, with 4 IR LEDs. The third camera on the back is a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit.
The Thermal Version of the phone uses the ThermoVue T2 thermal imaging capabilities. It also uses the SharpenAI algorithm with FusionAI technology in order to ensure ultra-high-resolution thermal images.
We still don’t know how much the phone will cost, but that’s something we’ll find out in the near future.
