Development Data and Gift Management Analyst ($50,000–55,000)

The Development Data and Gift Management Analyst supports the fundraising efforts of the Barnes Foundation by providing data management, reporting, and analytic support in the areas of gift and data entry, constituency data collection, and knowledge management. This position also supports the development department by posting gifts in accordance with department policy, maintaining data integrity, and adding new data to the database. Duties vary based on department activities throughout the year.

The On-Call A/V Technician handles the setup, breakdown, and operation of audio, video, and lighting equipment at the Barnes for live and virtual art lectures, musical performances, and client events including corporate retreats and weddings. The technician ensures that complete customer satisfaction is achieved and is accountable for all inventory before, during, and after each event.

Development Coordinator ($46,000–49,000)

The Development Coordinator supports the Circles program in acquiring, renewing, upgrading, and stewarding members at all levels. This position is integral to providing the highest level of customer service to our lead individual members, and also facilitates the monthly and quarterly renewal cycles for the Circles program. Additionally, the Development Coordinator works with the Corporate Programs Manager to assist with communications and customer service for Corporate Council members. The Development Coordinator is responsible for producing and executing strong communications with members, maintaining data and reporting regarding these membership programs, and researching current members and prospects. This position will help organize and execute a robust calendar of related events and member programs and work closely with volunteer leadership committees. The Development Coordinator will report to the Director of Individual Giving, with additional oversight from the Corporate Programs Manager as needed.

Senior Director of Programs, Calder Gardens ($110,000–125,000)

The Senior Director of Programs will be responsible for bringing to life the novel and progressive vision of Calder Gardens, a new institution opening on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in fall 2025 that will unite the art of Alexander Calder with nature and architecture to create an oasis that invites introspection and nurtures human connection.

The Senior Director of Programs will curate and implement a robust program of nontraditional performances, events, and contemplative activities that connect Calder’s legacy with the art and culture of the 21st century in creative and expansive ways. The director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing a wide range of time-based art, education, and wellness programs designed to introduce and amplify the unique Calder Gardens experience to new and diverse audiences.

Calder Gardens will be operated by the Barnes Foundation. The Senior Director of Programs will be the senior staff member on-site at Calder Gardens as well as a member of the Barnes’s senior management team. Reporting to the Neubauer Family Executive Director and President of the Barnes and working in close collaboration with the Calder Foundation, the Senior Director of Programs will serve as the primary liaison for external communications and point of contact for exhibitions, education, community engagement, advancement, marketing, editorial, event management, retail operations, and guest and protection services teams.

Manager of Campaign and Donor Relations ($75,000–80,000)

The Manager of Campaign and Donor Relations is responsible for the strategy and implementation of all Second Century Campaign and stewardship programs for the Advancement Department. This position will partner with colleagues to implement a best practices stewardship program that creates meaningful and multidimensional donor experiences across the Barnes’s fundraising programs. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Deputy Director for Advancement, this position works closely with the Director of Development Services, as well as other executive and development staff. In this campaign role, the manager has primary responsibility for donor recognition and signage; donor endowment and operation reports; communications and correspondence; gift agreement templates; coordination on proposal development and generation; event strategy; and other related projects or initiatives as needed. In addition, this position will serve as a program manager for the Barnes’s Board of Trustees, including Honorary Trustees and Trustee Emeriti, to maximize their participation, recognition, and contributions. The manager will assist with campaign strategy for various constituency groups including the Ambassadors Board, National Ambassadors Board, Professional Advisors Council, and the Advancement Committee.

The Guest and Protection Services Specialist serves as both a console operator and gallery monitor, playing a key role in frontline staff operations, providing the team with constant visual surveillance information to help provide an exceptional guest experience, and ensuring the safety and protection of the collection, buildings, and grounds. Guest and Protection Services Specialists are part of a team that are truly the face of the Barnes Foundation and work under the Director of Guest and Protection Services to ensure a visit to the Barnes is informative, friendly, respectful, and safe.

Guest and Protection Services Associate ($17.60/hr)

Guest and Protection Services Associates provide a best-in-class experience to every person who visits our institution. As the first line of interaction between the Barnes Foundation and all guests, the Guest and Protection Services (GPS) Associate sets the tone for an exceptional guest experience, making the “customer centered” concept a daily reality in all interactions, decisions, and exchanges with guests. GPS Associates are part of a team that is truly the face of the Barnes Foundation and work under the direction of the Director of Guest and Protection Services to ensure a visit to the Barnes is informative, friendly, respectful, and efficient. This includes answering questions, enforcing rules, looking out for suspicious behavior, providing assistance, and engaging guests with warm and welcoming conversations about the foundation and its collections.

Internships

We offer summer internships in a variety of departments for undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent high school and college graduates. Our interns work with experts in their fields, gain valuable job experience, and engage in meaningful work. Learn more about each department.

Apply online. Applicants will be notified of their final status about eight weeks after the application deadline.

All internships at the Barnes are paid. Undergraduate students receive $12.75 per hour. Graduate students receive $15.75 per hour.

The summer internship program runs from the first week in June through the second week of August. Interns work 2–3 days per week and are required to work on Fridays, when all interns participate in mandatory enrichment activities.
