Spoiler alert! Below is a list of eliminated contestants from Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette, updated weekly after each episode. If you’re not caught up, episodes can be streamed with a Hulu subscription.
A new season of The Bachelorette is underway, with 26-year-old Jenn Tran on a quest to find her husband. By the end of this history-making 21st season, we’re hoping to see someone get down on one knee to propose to Jenn, but first she’s got to send a lot of people home. Here we’ll be keeping a record of each elimination, from the rose ceremonies to the bad dates, so if you weren’t able to watch The Bachelorette live or online for any reason, or you just need a reminder about why any specific dude’s not around anymore, you’ve come to the right place.
Twenty-five men stepped out of the limos on Night 1 of The Bachelorette Season 21, so Jenn Tran has a lot of work ahead of her before she gets that number down to one. We’ll be updating this list weekly at the end of each episode, so scroll down to see who the latest sendoffs are.
Night 1 Rose Ceremony: Seven Men Get The Boot
Jenn Tran met a lot of men in the Season 21 premiere on July 8, and they pulled out all the stops to make themselves memorable. Some contestants gave her shots (for “Shot O’Clock,” of course) or some other little token. Some rode in on skis or in a Corvette. One brave fellow arrived wearing a hospital gown (with nothing underneath) with his face wrapped in bandages. In the end, Jenn gave roses to 18 of them, eliminating these seven men:
- Brendan Barnum
- Brett Harris
- Moze Smith
- Dakota Nobles
- Kevin McDevitt
- Matt Arnold
- Ricky Marinez
Brett Harris became something of a fan favorite going into the season, so his elimination on the first night is a bit of a punch to the gut. All in all, it’s hard to know why sparks didn’t fly between any of these guys and Jenn Tran, but for Moze Smith, he may have sealed his own fate during their game of Truth or Dare. When asked if he’d ever ghosted anyone, he responded by saying, “All the time,” with seemingly no explanation, and Jenn was unimpressed to say the least.
Brendan Barnum was the man who ate the hot pepper, so maybe a less-sweaty first impression would have been better, and Kevin McDevitt was the skier. Is Jenn maybe more of a summer sports kind of girl?
Week 2 Rose Ceremony: Brian Autz, Jahaan Ansari, Marvin Goodly
Jenn Tran sent three men home after her first week in Melbourne, Australia, with Brian Autz, Jahaan Ansari and Marvin Goodly (pictured left to right above) not getting a rose. These men weren’t featured prominently in this week’s episode, thanks to the drama surrounding Devin Strader.
Bachelor Nation might remember Brian Autz as the man who stole the keys to Jeremy Simon’s Corvette in the season premiere, and Brian and Jahaan Ansari were two of the guys in Devin's corner amidst his feud with Aaron Erb, so the house may have just gotten a little colder for the Texas native.
Week 3 Self-Elimination: Aaron Erb
One week after recreating his brother Noah’s big feud from a few seasons ago, Aaron Erb got the call from the U.S. Air Force that he needed to return if he wanted to report to flight school. Not feeling enough of a connection with Jenn Tran to justify staying, he self-eliminated to fulfill his lifelong dream. He dropped quite a bomb before he left, though, telling Jenn that some of her men weren’t there for the right reasons.
Week 3 Rose Ceremony: Hakeem Moulton And Tomas Azzano
After a second week in Melbourne, Australia, Tomas Azzano failed to make the same impression on Jenn as he did when he got out of limo with two puppies in Week 1. As for Hakeem Moulton, what can I say? I will sincerely miss your facial expressions. Maybe we’ll see you in Paradise?
Week 4 Elimination: Sam Nejad
After taking some crap from the guys last week for telling Jenn Tran he was falling in love with her, “love virgin” Sam Nejad was on another level this week. His confidence was through the roof on the group date, and he was really thinking this would be the night he’d kiss his future wife. However, Jenn couldn’t let him do that, admitting that her feelings for him weren’t as strong, and she escorted him out.
That was the only elimination of the week, as Jenn’s ex showing up caused the episode to end on a cliffhanger rather than a rose ceremony.
Week 5 Elimination: Matt Rossi
Wait, who? If the name Matt Rossi doesn’t ring a bell, don’t worry, he was never officially part of Jenn Tran’s cast. Matt was the (non-toxic) ex-boyfriend who showed up in Week 4 asking to join the season. While she did allow him to attend the cocktail party, it was only so she could say she was moving forward without him. He apologized to the contestants and left post-haste.
Week 5 Rose Ceremony 1: John Mitchell And Thomas Nguyen
Following the drama with Jenn Tran’s ex-boyfriend, we finally got around to what was essentially last week’s rose ceremony — the first of two during the August 5 episode. Thomas Nguyen failed to receive a rose, which wasn’t especially surprising because he only ever seemed to talk to Jenn about how much he didn’t like Devin. Unfortunately, John Mitchell didn’t have a strong enough connection with the Bachelorette either and was sent home.
Week 5 Self-Elimination: Austin Ott
Upset about the fact that he had not yet been given a one-on-one date or a group date rose, Austin Ott decided to bow out of The Bachelorette, which caused Jenn to spiral pretty hard at the end of the group date.
Week 5 Rose Ceremony 2: Dylan Buckor
Dylan Buckor may have shared career aspirations with Jenn as a medical student, but that ultimately didn’t help them spark the connection they needed. After Austin Ott sent himself home, Dylan was the sole elimination in the episode’s second rose ceremony.
Week 6 Elimination: Sam McKinney
I don’t think I’ve ever cringed so hard as when I listened to Sam McKinney dodge all of Jenn Tran’s questions about his feelings for her. After it became so painfully obvious that Sam M. had no real knowledge of or love for Jenn, she said she was done and left the room. No asking him to leave, no walking him out, she was just done.
Week 6 Rose Ceremony: Grant Ellis And Spencer Conley
Grant Ellis caught feelings after his one-on-one date last week, but it seems like maybe Jenn wasn’t as into the relationship as much as he was. As for Spencer Conley, I’m actually surprised he lasted this long, because I haven’t felt much chemistry between the two this season.
It's hard to believe how fast Season 21 of The Bachelorette is going, and I can’t wait to see how things play out as Jenn Tran gets closer and closer to finding her person.
