TECNO has introduced the POVA 6 Pro 5G, the company next mid-range 5G smartphone, at the MWC as the successor to last year’s POVA 5 Pro. It has a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, retains the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC, but has up to 12GB of RAM and 12GB of virtual RAM.
The phone gets a Dynamic-Eye Design with Dynamic Light Effect on the back cover. In total, 210 single-point controlled MiniLEDs create ring-shaped and propeller-shaped light effects. Overall, up to 9 different scenarios like calls, power status, and gaming with 101 different user-defined effects can be personalized.
It uses TECNO’s first P-NCVM border for a smooth middle frame, and an advanced Lithography Precision Technology Texture that creates a fine yet robust feel that doesn’t show fingerprints, says the company.
The phone runs Android 14 with HiOS 14 on top. It has a 108MP rear camera, 2MP secondary camera and an AI lens. There is a 32MP front camera. Both the front and rear cameras have dual LED flash. It has a cooling area of 27342mm², and has TECNO’s 4D Vibration Sense for a more tactile gameplay.
There is an in-display fingerprint scanner and the phone packs a 6000mAh battery with 70W Ultra Charge that can charge the phone up to 50% in 20 minutes, and 100% in just 50 minutes. When the battery eventually runs low, 1% Super-Endurance Power can offer calling for up to 20 minutes. The phone also has 10W Reverse Charging.
The phone can be charged even in -20°C and is also able to operate at temperatures of up to 60°C. In addition, safety protections include STS Secure Battery Technology to prevent internal shortcuts, Bypass Charge to prevent overheating, and Charging Water Detection to alert users when moisture is detected, said TECNO.

Availability
The TECNO POVA 6 Pro 5G comes in Comet Green and Meteorite Grey colours and will roll out in the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and India starting from the end of February.
Following the initial release, it will become widely available across key regions, spanning Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. Pricing will be available when it launches in these countries.
