Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings series is coming to the streamer in just a few months and we are starting to see how the show will take shape. It’s setting up to be a massive production, likely the most expensive television show in history, and they are pulling out all the stops when it comes to character and world-building. And now we are getting a chance to see a couple more of the key players in the show with Amazon releasing some early images of two key pieces in the series. As part of the Amazon Global All Hands meeting (via IGN), the company released two images that will have fans getting pretty excited.

The two characters from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power are Theo and Bronwyn who should have bigger roles in the series. Seeing the images begins to transport fans back to Middle-earth for a story that will set the stage for some of what we saw in the Fellowship of the Ring trilogy as well as The Hobbit story. Theo is played by Tyroe Muhafidin, and Nazanin Boniadi is playing Bronwyn. Check out these early images of The Lord of the Rings characters.

According to early notes on The Lord of the Rings series, Bronwyn will be a human healer who lives in the Southlands and Theo is her son. We see in the images that Theo has found the hilt of a broken sword and is examining it while Bronwyn is posed in a rocky outcropping near water. The stylings fit in with what we already know about the franchise and should lend themselves to a pretty spectacular story.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will focus on the timeline in Middle-earth thousands of years before what happens in The Hobbit and the subsequent story of Frodo and company in the Fellowship of the Ring stories. During this timeline, we will get the story of how Sauron began to rise into power and how the original rings were forged, with the One Ring causing considerable issues in those later stories. This is all during Middle-earth’s Second Age, and is based on the writing of J.R.R. Tolkien. Other characters in the series will include Elrond (Robert Aramayo), Isildur (Maxim Baldry), Galadriel (Nazanin Boniadi), and many more.

This series is setting up to be an epic production with a massive cast and a story that will last multiple seasons. And Amazon has spared no expense with The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, committing more than $1 billion to the series between licensing numbers from the Tolkien Estate and Warner Bros. as well as just production costs. It’s set to be the most expensive series ever made.

And it won’t be long now until it finally hits Amazon Prime. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set to release its first episode “Shadow of the Past” on September 2nd of this year. It could be the most popular offering ever for the streamer.
