The CBI arrested Oasis school principal after he was interrogated for two days.

CBI on Friday arrested Oasis School Hazaribagh principal-cum-district coordinator of NEET exams Ehsanul Haq, vice principal Imtiyaz Alam and one other person on allegations of tampering of questions papers.

The arrests were made at Hazaribagh.

NEET 2024 News Live: The Tamil Nadu Assembly once again passed a unanimous resolution urging the Centre to exempt the state from National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test and allow it to admit students to medical courses based on Plus Two exam marks.

The resolution, adopted by the House amid the BJP's opposition and walkout, called upon the Centre to amend the National Medical Commission Act and abolish the country-wide screening test taking into account the irregularities and increasing opposition to the test in several states, which toed Tamil Nadu's line.

The first is NEET, where lakhs of students were impacted as a result of the paper leak, and the second is those criminal laws that are to be implemented on July 1, 2024. So, an adjournment motion notice had been given on NEET by the INDIA Alliance partners. I had specifically given notice about the criminal laws that their implementation must be stopped. As per a PTI report, the Delhi HC has sought the stand of the National Testing Agency (NTA) on a petition by a NEET candidate alleging 'out of syllabus' question in the exam.

In 2024, NEET had 67 toppers from across the nation, all of whom scored a perfect 720/720 score.

In 2023, NEET only had two toppers in 2023, and in 2022, only one topper.

NEET 2024 News Live: This year's NEET UG examination was conducted on May 5, 2024, at 4,750 centres in 571 cities, including 14 abroad. Over 23 lakh candidates appeared for the test.

President Droupadi Murmu who addressed a joint sitting of both the houses on Thursday, said that the government is committed to a fair investigation of the recent incidents of paper leaks as well as stringent punishment for the guilty.

The NTA is expected to release the results of the recently held NEET UG re-examination results on June 30.

NEET 2024 News Live: The Kerala Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed a resolution demanding the central government to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the alleged irregularities in NEET and UGC NET exams. MLA M Vijin moved the motion which was supported by both the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF).

"How can a government which cannot conduct these exams safely ensure the security of the country? NTA has committed gross negligence in conducting the exam. About 24 lakh students depend on this examination. Paper leaks happened. There was widespread corruption in the conduct of NEET 2024," Vijin said.

"Bihar's Patna and Gujarat's Godhra are the two epicentres we are seeing. This mafia, even asked Students who have lakhs to spend to leave blank papers. In Haryana, six students who got full marks appeared for the exam at the house of a BJP leader's relative. 67 first-rank holders this time, this is something which we have never heard in the history of these exams. Even after all this NTA and union government from the beginning has been trying to say there is no lapse," he added. Read more.
