This is something that I have experienced first hand. Having moved to Turkey to study in Turkish it has proved difficult to adapt to a new language and learn comfortably with the language. By trying to immerse oneself into activities in class might be the key to improvement. It takes time to completely be part of a new culture. Mistakes will be made on the way and eventually all jigsaws will fit into place.

In my experience, it's through the class tasks and exercises but not only but from the learners facial or body expressions too.

It´s important to know your students and their needs so you can adapt your classes and make them more flexible. Empathy and creativity are key to give students what they deserve.

I’ve always found this to be one of the hardest aspects of language acquisition as there is such a delicate balance between making it simple and losing the point altogether.

* Unfortunately, some teachers think that using C1-C2 vocabulary for B1 students would make their students impressed by how fluent the teachers are. * Using dictionaries inside classes can be a great help for both EFL/ESL teachers and students. It still doesn't make it okay for a teacher to show off while his/her students being engaged efficiently.

I agree with peer support. This interaction is crucial as it allows learners to apply their language knowledge in authentic situations, boosting their confidence and fluency. Moreover, peer support creates a sense of community where learners feel supported and encouraged, making the classroom environment more inclusive and welcoming. This collaborative approach not only enhances learning outcomes but also enriches the educational experience by fostering mutual understanding.

In this situation peer groups work effectively under guided support. Peers create comfortable environment for their mates to learn the target language more quickly.

Including students' various cultures and interests into your classroom and inviting your students to share their own experiences, you're opening up the opportunity to have a much more enriched classroom experience. It acknowledges the different experiences your learners may have, as well as allowing for exploration of different ideas and thoughts and encourages open discussion, which increases motivation and development of language skills.

The cultural aspect is one you should really focus on. Is proved thst we can learn a lot better when we feel connected with the subject, so embrace your students culture, their preferences and references. You need to connect with them, make them feel comfortable and attached to the content. Also, using the wrong references might be a huge mistake, as the result is going to be the opposite and you will basically putting another obstacle between the students and the content. Make it familiar, comfortable and meaningful

Entender esto hará que podamos replantear nuestro quehacer como docentes, intentando llegar a cada uno de esos mundos con estrategias eficaces y significativas.

As an EYL teacher, dealing with various mindsets and backgrounds of students at their early age can be a challenge. Therefore, I always try to begin each year by founding grounds for all students and for myself to stand on. Finding out about things in common between ss can give impressive results in many ways.

When I was teaching 1st graders with an 80 percentage of male students, I know that the ultimate goal of every lesson is to play. I looked online and got some insights of small games to play in the classroom especially during the winter and incorporate my lessons inside it. For example, everybody knows the game tic tac toe. I used this putting flashcards instead of empty boxes, a student chose which flashcard to answer then write down their team letter and win! Such a hoot for my kids I must say!

One thing I’ve found helpful is to bake it into activities and games, it stop my students stop thinking it’s a test and gives them something enjoyable to do.

Leveraging education technology. Seriously, I should go check with my former students who became engineers... I think we joked about a chest-mounted tablet which doubles as a subtitle screen we hope the teacher could wear. I hope some of them actually are interested in trying to make one for me?🙃

So, basically on preparing the lesson plan we should make sure to include the following materials: - Videos: to achieve the most of your VISUAL learners, turn on their imagination and to elevate their sense of creativity. - Audio lingual materials: to involve your AUDITORY learners and enhance their phonemic awareness. - Physical or kinesthetic activities: to include students who learn by movements. By doing so, you'll guarantee that there's no student left behind.

This can help students who are struggling with language barriers to better understand the material. It is also crucial to have a clear understanding of the students' language abilities and to adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
