Begin by prioritizing key areas of focus for each session. Be clear on the goals for the session beforehand, making sure to tailor your feedback to address specific objectives or challenges. Use active listening to understand their concerns quickly, and provide concise, actionable feedback that aligns with their goals. If time is tight, focus on offering one or two key insights or strategies that they can immediately implement. After the session, provide follow-up resources or a summary to reinforce the feedback and allow for reflection. Prioritize consistency and clarity in your communication, ensuring that even with limited time, the feedback remains valuable and impactful.

The coach's presence and active listening (non-verbal, verbal, and paraverbal) ensure you gather the maximum amount of information and identify all moments of growth in your clients. Take notes after each session (these notes should be kept secure to maintain coaching confidentiality). The coaching alliance develops smoothly, and you can revisit key points from previous sessions. For example, I can restate to all my clients what they told me seven sessions ago. Another tip: ask short, impactful questions. This will simplify the pace and help you manage time more effectively.
