Actually, I don’t support the argument that there is any aircraft fuel shortage. Yes, continuance of existing jet fuel availability is a serious concern for the future for aviation transport economics and environment sustainability. Alternatives fuel’s and strong fuel supply chains are the issues for analysis to bring seamless availability of aircraft fuel across the global thru a well designed fuel trade pacts framework between nations, as are researched and tested for alternatives means of fuel such as hydrogen and electric.

Fuel Analysis is extremely important and shouldn't only be done in a fuel scarcity. A comprehensive fuel analysis must carry the following information: 1. Fuel agents available at every airport. 2. Aircraft fleet and fuel consumption rates. 3. Routes being operated and payload associated with each route. 4. Prices variations in fuel supply. 5. Airport issues: slots, weather etc. Having a good knowledge of the above indices and others will create a good view of how to manage fuel utilisation at every airport of operations. Necessary information must be tracked if not on a daily basis but on a weekly basis and cumulated to what fuel consumption rates will look like in a year. Knowledge of this indices will help in scarcities.

you must have contingency plans in all cases, including that of fuel shortage. that can include less flights, inter-linking of flights, sharing the load of incoming/outgoing passengers, etc. also, can we have fuel from nearby stations; can we move fuel by more tankers, etc. even looking for alternate fuel vendors can be thought of.

Contingency plan is essential. Tankering the flight.. flight routing with profitable technical stops for fueling... stanby airport storage fuel tankers to be used only during shortage.. avoid one contracted fuel supplier ..have 2 or 3 fuel suppliers. For flexibility.

Having worked in areas where there is a chronic and/or seasonal fuel shortage, we organized meetings with other aircraft operators to identify root causes. As a unified group, we approached the airport management and/or the into plane service provider’s management team to escalate the issue and agree on corrective measures and timelines to deliver the changes. Timely follow up with all parties is critical to ensure short term mitigation and long term corrective measures are being implemented in the agreed upon time line.
