It makes it easier to understand their thought processes and communicate with an open mind. There’s always a generational level to understand because of the dynamism of the theory of change so nobody can lay claim to knowing all. Even as experience counts for something. Keep an open, understanding and non- judgmental mindset in communication and working with them Respect and it will come back to you irrespective of what generation you belong. I believe it is important to celebrate and embrace different generations within a team of volunteers. It’s important to remember that not all generational traits define a person. They could be bringing many valuable skills to the table which we may overlook when being under the influence of biases. Open and healthy communication is key to making the team work.

Volunteerism should be promoted in schools and universities. I don't want to be judgmental but the current generation are more interested in toys and virtual world than the real world. One of the ways that they could be introduced to the real world is volunteerism. Volunteering at community level activities will make them aware of the actual things that happen at society level and be less dependent in their thinking on the virtual world and the toys that they play with everyday.
