Scope creep generally happens in Product development where initially the scope defined with basic features but as we start implementing with agile methodology, we end up with adding many new features to stay with latest trends. as an instance I have been developing HRMS Product with proper defined features but meanwhile AI got too much in demand that we had to add AI powered features to be in latest trends. so very important to recognize the sign of scope creep and accommodate them in the implementations wisely.

Review and Progress call helps to be aligned with IT strategy in Software Product development. daily stand-up call of 15 mins helps to understand if the team is following the project plan or not. if any challenges or blockers are there can be escalate on immediate basis. also adopt the new technology trends which can be easily migrated while implementing the modules with agile methods. so by review and adapt method one can easily understand the scope creep and improve the strategy to align with development scope.

With a clear vision and defined goals, teams should be empowered to be flexible on the details of delivering outcomes. As stakeholders and strategy owners, we must support teams with control mechanisms around change and engage in regular sprint reviews and demos to ensure alignment. Additionally, we should hold ourselves accountable if the vision and strategy are unclear, and/or if we introduce unnecessary changes.

I have been working with HRMS Product development since 3 years and initially we started with defined scope of work with necessary modules like core HR, leave/attendance tracking, payroll process and Tax and compliance but while implementing we had added many features which was not there in scope but as it was value added to the over all product usability we added them in our scope of implementations and the result was the fine tuned product which solves many HR related issues in large corporation like more than 500 employees payroll process and other activity must be tracked on daily basis.
