San Diego this week was a delight. It's refreshing and energizing to hear from family offices and emerging managers building and investing in companies with such positive real world impact. Much has been said on emerging managers, as part of the "fourth wave" of venture capital, but I learnt that emerging managers are ~4x as likely to have at least one female founder compared to traditional vc firms (according to Silicon Valley Bank data - https://lnkd.in/enbXYu-R). I came away from the last couple days with a stronger conviction that there is natural alignment with deep/hardtech and family office investment strategies. Both share long term horizons and values driven approach. Thanks Paul Clastre for the invitation and congrats to all the 1200vc team for hosting an excellent event.
