We are proud to announce that we have been recognized by Forbes as one of America's Top RIA Firms for 2024. Developed by SHOOK Research, the list recognizes the top RIAs in the U.S. based on both qualitative and quantitative factors. Earlier this year, we were recognized by Barron's as a Top 100 RIA Firm for the fifth consecutive year. “It’s an honor to be recognized by these top-tier publications,” said Harry O'Mealia, President and CEO of 1919. “We work hard for our clients every day, and these recognitions are a testament to our dedication to the future of our clients, both now and for generations to come.” Read more about the ranking here: https://lnkd.in/eWEbnRht #TopRIA #ForbesRanked

This week's Fed meeting will undoubtedly take a backseat to the #election, but both events will have significant implications for the U.S. #economy going forward. Globally, there is an event that may challenge the U.S. election in capturing the attention of investors. That is the week-long meeting of China’s governing body. The emphasis, of course, will be on finance and economics. ▶️ Read our full market update: https://lnkd.in/dGzCkdaV

Last quarter, 1919's Alison Bevilacqua, Managing Director & Head of Responsible Investing Research, was featured in Leslie Norton's Morningstar article discussing whether exclusions are on the way out for ESG and sustainable funds. "Exclusions may now be considered too imprecise. As research and systemic knowledge continue to improve, investors grow more interested in the fuller story of a company," says Alison. Exclusions are just one tactic in an array of sustainable investing approaches that seek to deliver competitive financial results while also driving positive environmental or social ESG outcomes. At 1919, our responsible investing approach incorporates exclusions, corporate engagement, ESG research, and positive social and environmental outcomes to align our clients' values with their portfolios. US equity markets snapped a six-week winning streak, finishing the week lower. Certainly, #earnings season angst contributed to the weakness, but for the first time in a while, investors were concerned about rising interest rates and the possibility of a less accommodative Fed. As part of our #1919BeyondTheNumbers series, meet Ron Bates from our #Cincinnati office! Outside of the office, Ron spends his time supporting the arts in his local #community. Just this month, Ron assumed the role of President of the Cincinnati Opera! With a legacy going back 102 years, the Cincinnati Opera is one of the oldest and most highly regarded opera companies in the U.S. In addition, Ron is on the Boards of the Taft Museum of Art, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, ArtWorks Cincinnati, & ArtsWave. The Taft Museum of Art is recognized nationally as a museum leader and one of the most unique art museums in the country. Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park is a professional regional theatre committed to producing and presenting the broadest range of theatre for diverse audiences. ArtWorks creates community-based public art providing career opportunities for artists of all ages. Last but certainly not least, ArtsWave is the engine for Greater Cincinnati’s arts -- funding and supporting 100+ arts projects and organizations through impact-based grants. On a personal note, supporting these local organizations has been a way for Ron to turn his passion into community leadership. Ron's advice: "Find the organizations you're most passionate about, which tend to be the ones you have a history or connection with. From there, understand your goal, whether it is to help others, develop a network, get to know a new community, or gain leadership skills." At 1919, our commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen is one of our priorities. 1919 strives to enrich the communities in which we live and work through employee volunteerism and community engagement. #EmployeeSpotlight #EmployeeAppreciation

At 1919, many of our clients have LLCs that they use for a variety of purposes. All of these types of closely held business entities are subject to a new reporting regime known as the Corporate Transparency Act (or “CTA”), and the deadline for compliance for existing entities is fast approaching on January 1, 2025. In our latest article, we break down the #CTA, including who is required to report, what is required to be reported, reporting deadlines, and more.
