As we finish Teacher Appreciation Week, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we've undertaken together at A. Fantis School. This week, we celebrate not just the profession of teaching but the passionate individuals who breathe life into our classrooms every day. Teachers, you are the architects of the future, shaping minds with patience, dedication, and an unwavering belief in every student's potential. This year, more than ever, I've witnessed remarkable resilience and innovation in how you've adapted to challenges, always putting the needs of our students at the forefront. Your commitment to creating engaging, supportive, and inclusive learning environments is truly inspiring. You've not only taught academic subjects but essential life lessons of kindness, perseverance, and curiosity. To every teacher at A. Fantis, please know that your efforts do not go unnoticed. Your tireless work, the late nights spent planning and grading, the personalized support you provide to each student, and the creative ways you make learning enjoyable are the backbone of our school's success. You make a difference, not just in the lives of the students you teach today but in the future they will build tomorrow. As we celebrate this week, let's remember that appreciation for teachers shouldn't be confined to a single week. Let us carry this gratitude throughout the year, supporting and uplifting one another in our shared mission to educate and inspire the next generation. Thank you, teachers, for everything you do. Here's to you – for your passion, your dedication, and your impact that goes beyond the classroom walls. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! With utmost respect and gratitude, The A. Fantis School Community

Last month we were honored to welcome Pavlos Geroulanos, a member of the Hellenic Parliament, and his visit still resonates. Student Council members led him on a tour of the school before sitting in on an informal Q&A with Upper School. Beloved History Teacher Mr. Mound had them prepared with some pretty tough questions, yet, Mr. Geroulanos handled the questions directly, thoughtfully, and with grace. Mr. Geroulanos moved on to a tour of the historic Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Brooklyn with Father Evagoras Constantinides and even helped with Tsiknopempti grilling. Exciting talks were underway to perhaps arrange another visit with Mr. Geroulanos in Athens for the annual Senior Trip to Greece!

The real story here is the impact of great teaching and how it shapes the lives of students. Korinna has been inspired to become an English teacher by our Assistant Principal Lilikaki, who taught her English years ago. Check out the inside scoop for yourself of a student's experience at Fantis.
