It is truly an honor and humbling experience to have been so warmly welcomed by the community of St. Paul's Episcopal Church Chattanooga and Athens as a guest speaker and to have had the opportunity to screen the documentary, Pain and Peace, especially in a time when Islamophobia is on the rise again, 85 percent of Americans have never visited a mosque and 65 percent have never met a Muslim. Their generous hospitality in inviting me, a Muslim, into their holy space reflects the importance of promoting compassion, understanding, and getting to know one another. This is key to healing our nation and bridging divides. A heartfelt thank you to Rev. Ed Bacon, Rev. C Murdock Jones, Claire Brown and their colleagues for organizing such meaningful and engaging events at their beautiful and historic church. I also want to express my gratitude to everyone who joined us and shared their time. #love #compassion #empathy #forgiveness #inclusion #faith #humanity #peace #resilience #worldwithouthate

Bullying, whether at work, school, home, or in public spaces, ends when we, as individuals and a society, embrace empathy over cruelty and commit to teaching and reminding ourselves to do the same. Our children reflect the world we create for them. When adults choose kindness, compassion, and empathy—mindful of their words and actions—children follow their lead. Rest in peace, Jocelynn. You are deeply loved and will never be forgotten. https://lnkd.in/g9nzp7b3 #SaveChildren #savelife #stopbullying #empathy #compassion #life #respectlife #SaveTheChildren #RightToLife #peace #humanity #worldwithouthate

Children are like mirrors, reflecting what they see and learn, especially at home —their first learning institution. If we teach them compassion, empathy, and generosity, they will carry those values into the world, creating ripples of goodness wherever they go. https://lnkd.in/gtp3G27G #empathy #compassion #Children #education #home #parenting #parents #worldwithouthate #school #Kids

The continuation of cruelty, the degradation of humanity, and the suffering of so many persist not because the world is full of evil people, but because too many good people remain silent—as long as the injustice doesn’t directly affect them or their loved ones. The oppressed are too often dehumanized with labels and slurs, making it easier to justify their persecution and suffering. This tragic pattern has echoed throughout history and continues even today. It’s often easier to stay quiet, prioritizing personal comfort, than to risk losing status, wealth, or power by speaking out. Yet, it’s easy to forget that material possessions hold no value once we leave this world. What truly lasts is how we are remembered—not for what we owned, but for the positive impact we made, the lives we touched, and the morals and values we upheld. Let’s make 2025 a year of self-reflection and ask ourselves: Are we part of the silent majority of good people? What actions will we take to honor life, uphold humanity, and end cruelty—even toward those we may not understand, like, or agree with? What steps can we take to confront and disrupt hate and violence, no matter who the victims or perpetrators are? #humanity #peace #humanrights #HumanDignity #worldpeace #empathy #justice #healing #Compassion #forgiveness #worldwithouthate

Over the past several months, I’ve traveled across America, meeting people from all walks of life and hearing their stories. Through countless conversations, I’ve come to understand the hopes, dreams, frustrations, and even deep-seated anger many hold—over urgent social issues here at home as well as the deeply troubling foreign policy missteps in the Middle East. For some, these feelings have turned into a painful resignation—they feel so unheard, ignored, and are planning to abstain from voting this year. Others are planning to send a message by voting against certain candidates, hoping this act will make their frustrations heard. I understand their anger and frustration. Truly, I share it. Too often, it feels like we’re watching leaders pursue self-interests over public service. Foreign policies have become inconsistent and morally shaky, eroding America’s credibility and diminishing our role as peace brokers and defenders of human rights. Yet, this election is pivotal. Despite our challenges, America remains a beacon of hope and possibility—a democracy that millions around the world look to with admiration and hope. But if we do nothing, if we fail to hold our leaders accountable and stand together, we risk eroding the very freedoms that make this country a model for others. Let’s not turn our frustration inward, dividing ourselves even further. If we can find common ground and unity here at home, we’ll have the power to push our leaders toward a future that is both just and peaceful. But if we allow division to take root, we risk losing everything, both here and abroad. With only two days left before this crucial election, I urge everyone eligible to vote to exercise this power and make a positive impact. Vote with conviction. Vote for economic opportunity, for equitable education, for the health and well-being of every citizen. Vote to preserve the right to protest, to demand peace and justice, and to end hate-fueled violence. Together, we can shape a future where opportunity, equity, and safety are realities for all. And we can demand leaders who will act with integrity to end the loss of lives and bring peace and stability in places like the Middle East. I’ve cast my vote. Have you? #vote #democracy #justice #peace #equity #empathy #stopwar #worldwithouthate

I had the honor of attending a powerful briefing and fireside chat hosted by the White House Office of Political Strategy and Outreach, followed by a beautiful Dewali celebration. Witnessing the Biden-Harris administration's commitment to expanding economic opportunity, ensuring equitable education, advancing health and well-being, fostering inclusion, and combating hate-fueled violence was truly inspiring. Working together, we can continue this progress and build a future where opportunity, equity, and safety are realities for everyone.
