ABC15 Arizona is partnering with Earnhardt Auto Centers and St. Vincent de Paul for the annual 2nd Chance Bike Drive. A bike can be the difference between unemployment and employment, going to school or not, retrieving groceries or going hungry, accessing health care, or going without treatment. That’s why every bike donation counts because each bike is an opportunity to improve someone’s life. Please donate new or gently used bikes to any Earnhardt Auto Centers in the Valley. Monetary donations will be used to purchase supplies to repair gently used bicycles. Drive goes until the end of September. Donate anytime or for more information go to abc15.com/bike. #abc15 #abc15arizona #secondchancebikedrive #earnhardtautocenters #stvincentdepaul #neworgentlyusedbikes #improvesomeoneslife #localnewsmatters

According to the Annie E. Casey Foundation, a child not reading at grade level by the end of first grade has an 88% chance of not reading at grade level by the end of fourth grade. ABC15 and the Scripps Howard Fund have teamed up for the "If You Give a Child a Book...." campaign. Putting books into the hands of children in need will further their ability to learn, succeed and to move out of poverty. Improving literacy skills for these children helps them become better-informed and capable of making sound decisions.
