    IT'S BACK TO SCHOOL! For a lot of brands this means heavy demos, heavy promos, and a ton of content.     SO we've been selling in Whole Foods Market MA for exactly 6 months. We keep track of basic metrics like AOV, SKU split, velocity etc...but after a whole 6 months, it turns out the flavor split across BOTH sizes is only a variance of ONE! Like one-singular case difference between Magic Maple Cinnamon and Rockin' Rosemary Sea Salt across both the family size and single serve skus. Granted we had a ramp-up period 📈 (adding on stores one-by-one throughout the six months, so not all stores have been selling the product for exactly 6 months) but this is INSANE to me 😲 We thought for sure there would be a clear best seller. We were hoping that the data would help inform whether to launch a new sweet flavor 🍫 or a new savory flavor 🔥 Thoughts on figuring out what our next move should be? ⬇ #data #customerfeedback #flavors Eli Bank

    Hey LinkedIn! Eli Bank and I need your opinions, participation, and engagement on our packaging refresh. We've been getting a ton of feedback from customers at demos that our current product name (Munchy Crunchy Trail Mix) doesn't correctly define our snacks...so we're changing it in anticipation of our March packaging run. Our customers are young to middle-aged individuals with one or more of the top 9 food allergens. Since trail mixes are often associated with nuts, we are concerned that the current name may turn some consumers off before they are able to trial. Our direct competitors are brands with a free-from and a plant-based focus. Here are our top choices: 1) Nut Free Snack Mix 2) Nut Free Crunch Mix 3) Allergy Friendly Snack Mix 4) Munch Mix 5) Savory Snack Mix // Sweet Snack Mix Current packaging in below. Current callouts on the bottom are being replaced with GFCO and Non-GMO, and the Top 9 Allergen Free & Nut Free certs will be alongside packaging on the left. Almost every time we go to an event or conference, it's always to our surprise that the community has been following our journey closely through our posts and the love that others share as Absurd Snacks grows and continues to gain momentum.     It's official - CPG DAY WAS AMAZING! The inaugural DC Startup Week CPG Startup Showcase & Competition this past Monday 10/16, hosted by CPG in the DMV Connect, was a huge hit. The sampling event perfectly complemented the four incredible CPG/Food panels in the afternoon that delved into just about all aspects of building a brand, including product development, mission, branding, production, COGS, distribution, sales, funding, and more. Shoutout to Mackenzie Loy, with Homemade in DC, who hosted and moderated two of those excellent panels. And the biggest THANK YOU goes out to the 21 amazing brands that sampled their products and told their stories (full list is below), the hundreds of attendees that engaged with the brands and voted for their favorites, the CPG experts that judged the competition and/or joined the panels, and the Competition event sponsor WeStock.
