Today, we're celebrating the inauguration of the new Accelera by Cummins electrolyzer manufacturing plant in Guadalajara, Spain! 🎉 Accelera president Amy Davis and Cummins Inc. CEO Jennifer Rumsey were joined by partners and government officials to celebrate this significant milestone. The site produces our leading proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer systems and has an annual manufacturing capacity of 500 megawatts (MW), scalable to more than 1 gigawatt (GW). 📈 One of the largest electrolyzer production plants globally, the facility is designed with efficiency and sustainability in mind to complement the green hydrogen technology it will produce. Accelera is on a mission to decarbonize the world’s hardest-working industries. We are thrilled that Cummins Inc. is matching the $75 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the largest federal grant ever awarded solely to Cummins. This brings the total to $150 million dedicated to converting approximately 360,000 sq. ft. of existing manufacturing space to produce zero-emissions components and electric powertrain systems! I had the opportunity to visit Cummins Inc. Columbus Engine Plant (CEP) to tour the Accelera by Cummins production line and hear about key advancements within our eMobility business. It's amazing to see the progress they are making within Cummins' original plant, which we fondly refer to as Plant One. This is the same plant where we are investing $150 million to convert a portion of the facility to support the production of zero-emissions components and electric powertrain systems. A portion of that investment is supported by a $75 million grant from the Department of Energy, the largest federal grant ever awarded solely to Cummins. https://lnkd.in/e6etnDqf At CEP, we also manufacture blocks and heads for our current and next-generation, engine-based solutions alongside zero emissions solutions through Accelera, showcasing our multi-solution Destination Zero strategy in action.
