This week, we’re proud to highlight Ryan, our Housing Re-Entry Specialist, during Hispanic Heritage Month. Ryan plays a pivotal role in helping individuals successfully reintegrate into the community after incarceration. Here’s what Hispanic Heritage Month means to him: “Dolores Huerta: ‘Sí Se Puede’ is the chant and belief of many Hispanic warriors in revolutionary times. They believed this quote laid the foundation for the advancement to where Hispanics are today in our nation. This quote means to me that no matter what odds you face in life, whether it be racism, stereotypes, prejudices, and biases that show up as injustices, it only takes one voice that is brave enough to sound that battle cry. ‘Sí Se Puede’ was a battle cry that brought reform to Mexican farm workers' rights. It has since been the battle cry in many movements, including my own journey of reintegration into my community after a long period of incarceration. ‘Yes, we can’ is my battle cry.” At ACE, we are proud to amplify Ryan's message and continue empowering individuals as they rebuild their lives. #HispanicHeritageMonth #SiSePuede #Resilience #CommunityEmpowerment #ReEntrySupport #CulturalPride #ACECommunity #SanFernandoValley #SecondChances
