Friday night, I was incredibly honored to receive the Survivor - Three Heart Award from the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence was a powerful reminder of the resilience and strength we all share, and I feel incredibly grateful to be recognized among so many phenomenal advocates and survivors, and all the work we are able to do through Applejack's Ranch. Thank you to everyone one who came to celebrate with me, it meant the world to have you by my side. Special shoutout to Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence for the amazing work you do everyday in Arizona, and Boycott for the after-party and much needed tacos! No matter the outcomes of elections, ACESDV remains steadfast in our mission to end sexual and domestic violence by dismantling oppression and promoting equity. We will continue our work to protect the vulnerable and marginalized and to foster hope for all impacted by domestic and sexual violence. For 44 years, we have worked tirelessly across Arizona, with every administration, to bring about safety, justice, and healing. In 2023, 84 lives were tragically lost to domestic violence in Arizona. Since 2009, 1,543 fatalities have been recorded in our state. These numbers reflect the devastating impact of domestic violence, with each person leaving behind loved ones and powerful stories.
