🌟 Exciting news! 🌟 Fresh Start has just been awarded over $700,000 from the U.S. Department of Labor as a part of the Women in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations (WANTO) grant program! Fresh Start is one of the select few organizations nationwide to receive this funding and remains the only Arizona-based recipient. 🌵 “We are honored to continue partnering with the U.S. Department of Labor,” says Fresh Start CEO and President Kim McWaters. "This grant will help us expand access to high-demand careers in fields like construction, IT, and advanced manufacturing—areas where women have been historically underrepresented." Fresh Start is dedicated to increasing women’s participation in these high-growth industries, and with this grant, we have the opportunity to expand our outreach to underserved communities, providing job placement assistance and offering support services to motivated women who need it most. After ten years at a job she felt undervalued at, Raquelle felt mentally exhausted and ready for a change. It was hard to walk away, but Raquelle took some time off for her mental health, and discovered the semiconductor industry, piquing her curiosity. To be able to transition in a busy moment in my life, it was nice to find the additional support!” Raquelle shares. Raquelle graduated from the program, and was hired shortly after. Now, she’s thriving as a Manufacturing Associate at Randstad USA! “Fresh Start allowed me the time to get my mental health right, and the grace to fail. It took the pressure away from being uncertain about my career to having a plan formulated.
