🌟 Exciting News from ACROBA ! 🌟 We're thrilled to share updates from the recent General Meeting held at Aitiip Centro Tecnológico in Zaragoza, Spain on June 26th and 27th, 2024. 📸 During this gathering, partners came together to discuss the progress of our collaborative efforts. After 3,5 years of working hand in hand, it was an opportunity to reflect on our achievements and prepare for the final stages of the project, set to conclude next December. A major focus of the meeting were the 5 large-scale industrial pilots currently being deployed to demonstrate how ACROBA has the potential to unlock automation capabilities in a broad range of industrial sectors. We're thrilled to announce that the ACROBA project was actively participating in ROSCON France 2024 ! 🙌 As both a workshop facilitator and sponsor of the event, the ACROBA project geared up to contribute to this scientific and technical conference on the #ROS open-source technology to shape the future of robotics. 🚀 Norman Urs Baier from Berner Fachhochschule BFH gave an insightful presentation of the ACROBA solution, a ROS-based robot platform that can easily fit into any industrial setup, using a flexible approach to help SMEs quickly and affordably use advanced robots in their manufacturing. 🤖 @Laurent Cavazzana from Berner Fachhochschule BFH facilitated a workshop on how to create an assembly task with behaviour trees with the ACROBA platform. A fantastic opportunity to have robotics engineers and researchers test and explore the functionalities of ACROBA and provide feedback for further developments. What's RosconFR ? It's the premier gathering in France where leading minds in robotics converge to discuss the latest advancements, share insights, and foster collaborations in the open-source robotics community. It's a melting pot of innovation, creativity, and cutting-edge technology! We were at DEMO DAY! 🙌 Yesterday saw the first edition of DEMO DAY. An event organized by Pôle EMC2 to highlight innovations in industrial robotics and artificial intelligence. 🦾 As a partner of this event, the ACROBA project was there to present its #AI-driven solution to help manufacturing SMEs with their #automation. A great opportunity also to showcase the power of European projects and transnational collaborations to accelerate #innovation with the presence of our guest speaker Pirita Ihamäki PhD., M.Sc. and Juha-Pekka Alanen from Robocoast EDIH from Finland. 🚀 #AI #Innovation

Programming a task planner to clean up the mess of a human operator was the task our students of the Berner Fachhochschule BFH had, and which they solved during the hackathon in the ACROBA project. Congrats to the lucky winners! They used planning domain definition language (PDDL) and a solver to instruct the robot to efficiently remove wrongly placed sticks and move them either to the stock or to other matching rings. Thereby, they have beautifully shown the capabilities of our robotic platform.

Just a quick reminder: ACROBA's platform enables manufacturing companies, particularly SMEs, to swiftly and efficiently automate production processes using ROS-based technology. 👉 ACROBA and its partners are hosting a series of hackathons across various cities in France, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain. These events aim to test, expand, and accelerate the adoption of innovative solutions within the manufacturing sector. 👉 Coders, designers, developers passionate about robotics, AI, and programming have decided to join these events. 🎊 Winners of each hackathon will walk away with a prize (1’500 EUR worth)! 👀Did you know that #Vicomtech takes part in ACROBA project? ⚙The ACROBA project tackles the challenges of developing and demonstrating a novel concept of cognitive 🤖robotic platforms based on a modular approach, smoothly adaptable to virtually any 🏭industrial scenario by applying agile manufacturing principles. 👩🏽💻#Vicomtech is developing a 💻Virtual Gym, which provides a visually appealing virtual environment with high-fidelity to validate robotic systems without the need for physical hardware and support training/testing 💡#AI models in a controlled #DigitalSpace.

Join us at the University of Deusto to explore the cutting-edge world of robotics and artificial intelligence! Our latest research focuses on enhancing the skills of 6-DOF robotic arms using advanced techniques like Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL). 🦾 In our pioneering ACROBA project, we're leading the way in teaching robotic arms to learn and improve their skills autonomously. We start by studying simplified mathematical models of the environment to speed up the learning process. Moving forward, we use high-fidelity Virtual Gym simulations tailored specifically for ACROBA project scenarios. These simulations provide a dynamic environment for our robotic arms to learn and adapt effectively. With the involvement of three European projects, ACROBA project, ODIN project, and DrapeBot Project, we delved into the primary objectives and challenges of implementing cutting-edge technologies across various industrial sectors. European Robotic Forum 2024, the ACROBA Project was there ! 🤖 3 highlights of our participation to Europe's leading robotics event: 👉 Our partners from STAM S.r.l., Berner Fachhochschule BFH , Steripack Ireland led a workshop about "the challenges faced by manufacturers in adapting to agile principles and the opportunities arising from greater flexibility and responsiveness" in collaboration with ODIN project and DrapeBot Project. 👉 Our partner Vicomtech shared some of their scientific results with a paper and a poster entitled "Acroba Gym: A Unity-based ROS compliant simulator for robotics". 👉 Our partner Robocoast EDIH ensured a booth presence to showcase the ACROBA solution for agile manufacturing and network with the broader robotics community.
