Advancing campus community builders since 1914
About us
Founded in 1914, ACUI is a nonprofit educational organization that brings together college union and student activities professionals from hundreds of schools in seven countries. Its members work on urban and rural campuses, in two-year and four-year institutions and at large and small schools. They are students and administrators whose mission is to build campus community. ACUI enriches them all through education, advocacy, and the delivery of services. ACUI is a knowledge-based organization with a core purpose of advancing campus community builders. Essential to this work are the Association’s core values—a small set of timeless, guiding principles that hold great meaning for members, staff, and key stakeholders: caring community, diversity, innovation, integrity, joy, learning, and unconditional human worth. About Bloomington As the well-known home of Indiana University, Bloomington offers urban amenities nestled in the rolling hills of Southern Indiana. This city features an active arts scene, diverse culinary attractions, and abundant outdoor recreation experiences. The B-town community is consistently recognized for its uncommon blend of international culture and education with Midwestern hospitality and healthy lifestyles. Residents appreciate what this quintessential college town can offer, from Big Ten sports to the Lotus World Music and Arts Festival, from open-air markets to two of the country’s only Tibetan restaurants, from three wineries and eight craft breweries to its 30 miles of biking trails.
