[8/8] Meet Your 2024 Elevate Aviation - Women Of Inspire Sonia Mina - ATC Simulation Software Engineering Manager, Adacel (Montreal, QC) Sonia Mina is Adacel’s Software Engineering Manager for ATC Simulation and Training, with 22+ years in software development and a passion for aviation. Since joining Adacel in 2006, she’s progressed from software developer to leading diverse teams across three countries and working on Adacel’s MaxSim, Aurora, and FAST systems. She has spearheaded the integration of cutting-edge tech, including the development of AeroScene, Adacel’s advanced image generator that enhances immersive ATC training experiences on Adacel’s simulators. Sonia was a featured speaker at Unreal Fest 2023, showcasing her work in advancing ATC training. Sonia’s leadership focuses on mentorship, team dynamics, and innovation. She holds a Computer Science degree from Concordia University and a mini-MBA from McGill Executive Institute. She is an Egyptian-Canadian who holds a second-degree black belt in karate with a love of all sports, hiking outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
