From our Executive Director: I have some important news to share. After seven incredible years with The Addis Clinic, I will be stepping down as Executive Director later this summer to pursue new opportunities. This change is part of our plan to allow our talented team on the ground to take on more responsibility and welcome fresh perspectives. I’m thrilled to announce that Muna Muday, MPH, our Director of Programs, will serve as Interim Executive Director. Muna’s deep understanding of our mission, programs, and strategy makes her the perfect leader for this transition period. This year's theme, "Education for All Children in Africa: The Time is Now," resonates deeply with our mission of increasing access to healthcare in a sustainable and scalable way for remote and low-resource communities. These bright young minds are future medics, teachers, and policymakers. At The Addis Clinic, we believe in empowering these future leaders by providing them with the tools and opportunities to thrive. Healthy children can become educated children who change the world.

We are thrilled to celebrate our strong relationship with the Dovetail Impact Foundation and MIGHTY ALLY over the past two years. Their investment in Antony Kimathi's leadership and growth as our Kenyan NGO director has been invaluable. In this remote-first world, it’s rare to have the opportunity to sit face-to-face with our supporters and discuss our shared goals. Recently, Antony traveled from Meru County to meet with Joy Gikandi from Dovetail and Evan Wanjiru from Mighty Ally in Nairobi. The meeting was a wonderful exchange of ideas and experiences, focusing on growth strategies, funding challenges, and collaboration opportunities. We look forward to continuing our work together and building on this foundation of mutual support and shared vision!

After five months of impactful work in Beledweyne, Somalia, in partnership with the IOM - UN Migration, we are excited to share some incredible milestones! We have reached over 13,200 internally displaced patients through mobile clinics and telemedicine, addressing critical healthcare needs in the IDP community. Our efforts included deploying telehealth units, providing antenatal and postnatal care, and sending over 104,000 health messages to families. Recently, at the invitation of IOM, The Addis Clinic and Muna Muday, MPH, spent a week in Nairobi presenting our project and leading round-table discussions about IOM's diaspora-led framework. We shared our successes, challenges, and lessons learned, and we are thrilled about the opportunities this collaboration brings. We look forward to continuing our partnership with IOM and expanding our efforts to make a lasting impact.
