    Creating Digital-First Integrated Marketing Strategies

    I’ve been bombarded with Taylor Swift Disney+ Ads the past few days. You probably have too. I’m an advertising nerd, so It got me thinking, could this campaign have been built out and succeed as a #PMax campaign in addition to what was running on #Programmatic & on #YouTube? Sure, PMax isn’t the hero Google makes it out to be, but it also isn’t the villain some marketers make it out to be either. Pmax is the Anti-Hero. Tell me this lyric couldn’t easily describe Pmax: "I should not be left to my own devices, they come with prices and vices." Too much focus is put on “beating Pmax” instead of focusing on how it can work alongside other campaigns. An audience of live-event intenders, previous TSwift ticket searchers, filtered out by existing account holders running with ERAS content sure feels like a winning strategy; especially when you use those PMax ad engagers as a remarketing list for search ads triggered by “Disney+ subscription cost.” Thinking about PMax this way, with a performance-based plan of attack & data-driven testing roadmap, I feel pretty confident you can make any PMax strategy work. We're seeing PMax drive incremental value for several clients already, it is just about picking your spots and having the right expectations. It doesn’t have to be "so exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero." Stay tuned for more details on the approach we take at Adept (and fewer TSwift references) in our upcoming EBook.

    The evolution of SEO will continue (and speed up?) in 2024. Here are the trends Lincoln Rinehart and the SEO team are keeping at the very top of their list:   1. SERP Personalization & Human Perspectives   Google's doubling down on a human-first approach flips a few things on their head. Content quality trumps keyword utilization, and authorship expertise with unique points of view trumps generic (or generative AI) copy. Personalization may also be a stronger factor in rankings.   With the extra nod to personalization, you should rethink your SEO KPIs. Keyword rankings are still a leading indicator but should not be your primary KPI. Instead, we heavily lean toward revenue and traffic driven from non-brand queries, zeroing into specific pages and site sections to truly understand the impact of SEO efforts.   2. New SERP Features   SGE is coming (probably). When it does, website traffic will be disrupted for many brands, particularly those driving volume from informational queries. With SGE and other features, we're considering SERPs to be less "static" and more "situational." This has altered how we approach SEO research, emphasizing not only WHAT the audience is looking for, but also WHERE they’re looking and HOW they're engaging with the results.   3. Creating Associations Across a Digital Footprint   If you want to win long-term, SEO can't be in a silo. It may be worthwhile to consider how your SEO strategy aligns with other marketing efforts when it comes to a few key areas: - How your brand talks about itself online - How users talk about your brand online - How other related, reputable brands talk about your brand online   If the SEO strategy can tap into those key areas in concert with other marketing communications initiatives, it has the potential to supercharge (and future-proof) SEO performance. #Personalization #strategy #SEO #SERP
