Many families face severe food insecurity due to the El Niño-induced drought, with children often going up to 8 hours without eating during the school day. In Zimbabwe, a survey revealed that only 28.9% of students bring packed lunches, and schools cannot provide meals. Lack of nutritious food causes absenteeism, health issues, and a decline in school performance. 🍽️ ADRA’s School Feeding Initiative is working in 28 schools across Zimbabwe to provide meals for over 11,000 students who are going without food. With urgent support, we can ensure that these children receive at least one meal a day, helping them stay focused and improving their overall education outcomes. 🙏 Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these learners.

ADRA Brazil continues its vital support for communities affected by devastating floods in Rio Grande do Sul. Since May 2024, ADRA has assisted nearly 52,000 people by operating shelters, and distributing meals, vouchers, hygiene kits, and clothing. With the help of over 200 volunteers, ADRA’s Mobile Unit has provided thousands of meals to those in need. “Every penny donated has provided a new start for families,” says João Barboza, ADRA Brazil's emergency analyst. In Tanzania, over 40,000 people with albinism face stigma, discrimination, and even deadly consequences due to harmful myths and misconceptions. To combat these challenges, ADRA launched the Action for the Rights and Inclusion of Children with Albinism (AFRICA) project to support 400 children and their families in the Morogoro and Dodoma regions. 👐✨ Through awareness campaigns in schools and communities, the project advocates for including and protecting people with albinism. 📚💡 Teachers are now better equipped to support children like Edward, who has benefited from front seating in class to improve his vision. His classmates now help him with notes, fostering a more supportive learning environment. 🏫🤝 The project also provides health insurance, giving families like Naomi’s access to essential medical services. 🏥❤️ Naomi, a mother of two children with albinism, is especially grateful for the health card, which ensures quicker care for her asthmatic son.
