At Advanced Power, we build more than energy projects, we also help build communities. The development of each project includes meeting with community members and leaders to determine what is most important to them and how we can support their needs and priorities. Whether it’s supporting local schools, protecting a valued vegetation or animal species, or donating to a vital charity, being a good neighbor is part of what we do. Advanced Power’s low and no-carbon development strategies are making an impact. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, more than 80% of the reductions in 2023's energy-related emissions came from displacing coal with cleaner energy sources, primarily natural gas. Natural gas and solar power now make up a larger portion of the U.S. energy mix. Learn more about Advanced Power and our projects: https://lnkd.in/efr7jYP9

In recognition of International Women in Engineering Day, Advanced Power is pleased to remember Edith Clarke (1883-1959). In 1919, Edith Clarke became the first woman to graduate from MIT in Boston, Mass., with a master’s degree in electrical engineering. Her contributions to the field were transformative. She invented the Clarke calculator, a groundbreaking tool that revolutionized the analysis of complicated electrical networks. This device, which used diagrams instead of complex equations, was a game-changer.   Clarke went on to become the first woman to hold the position of Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas.   With her Massachusetts and Texas affiliations, Advanced Power, with offices in Boston and Houston, is proud to celebrate Edith Clarke on this 11th International Women in Engineering Day. Her story reflects the power of determination and the limitless potential of women in engineering.   Learn more about Advanced Power, including our career opportunities at https://lnkd.in/ee8d9dGz

Congratulations to Sabanci Renewables and Bechtel on completing the construction of the 272-megawatt (MW) Cutlass II solar facility in Fort Bend County, Texas. Cutlass II is the first of two photovoltaic projects developed by Advanced Power and sold to Sabanci Renewables. Cutlass II was sold in October 2022, followed by the sale of the 232 MW Oriana Solar project in October 2023. As we continue toward our vision of advancing a sustainable energy future, we’re proud to contribute to the tremendous growth of renewables in the Texas energy market.
