The results are in! The survey shows that 36% of respondents prefer extra base salary, indicating a strong preference for immediate, liquid compensation due to its simplicity and direct financial impact. Meanwhile, 50% of respondents favor long-term financial benefits, with 27% choosing equity and 23% opting for a 401(k) match, reflecting a focus on future financial security. Only 14% prioritize healthcare savings, suggesting it's seen as less impactful compared to direct compensation or long-term investments. Employers may need to better communicate the future value of benefits like 401(k) matches and equity to increase their attractiveness. #salary #salaryrange #joboffer #equity #401k #healthcare #jobsearch #hiring #newhire #recruiting #survey #surveysays

The results are in! A significant portion (59%) of respondents expect companies to make offers in the lower half of the published salary range, reflecting a common perception that companies start negotiations conservatively to control costs. In contrast, about 31% of respondents believe companies will offer salaries from the midpoint to the top 25% of the range, indicating moderate optimism for competitive initial offers aimed at attracting and securing talent. Employers should be aware that starting offers too low could discourage top talent, especially if candidates are aware of the published range. Balancing initial offers to align with market expectations while remaining competitive is crucial for attracting quality hires. The data suggests that salary ranges serve as broad guidelines rather than fixed structures, allowing employers to use these ranges strategically based on candidate experience, market conditions, and internal budget constraints. #salary #salaryrange #joboffer #startingsalary #initialoffer #salarynegotiations #jobsearch #hiring #newhire #recruiting

The results are in! With 59% of the vote, it appears that a majority of companies are currently offering three weeks or more of PTO to new hires. On the opposite end of the spectrum, a troubling 12% of respondents come from businesses that provide less than two weeks for new employees. With work/life balance progressively moving up the priority list for U.S. workers, organizations that remain competitive on PTO are likely to have significantly higher acceptance rates at offer stage. If you find your company in the 12% category, it’s time to revisit those policies with the appropriate authorities and bump the PTO up to remain in line with the market. #poll #pto #timeoff #entrylevel #ptopolicy #worklifebalance #jobsearch #hiring #newhire #recruiting

When it comes to financial compensation, most companies are under the impression that base salary trumps all other factors. Assuming the monetary value is equal, are there other financial incentives that would actually hold more weight for both new and prospective employees? The results are in! The overwhelming majority of respondents (66%) consider their direct manager or supervisor to have the most significant influence on their desire to remain at their current company. This underscores the crucial role that direct managers play in employee satisfaction and retention. Effective management, support, and communication from direct supervisors are likely key factors that contribute to an employee's positive experience and commitment to the organization. Given the impact of direct managers, companies should invest in leadership development programs to ensure managers have the skills needed to effectively lead and support their teams. Providing managers with the necessary resources, tools, and autonomy can enhance their ability to support their teams. This includes training in conflict resolution, performance management, and emotional intelligence. #poll #managers #directmanager #jobsearch #hiring #newhire #recruiting

The salary transparency law has forced companies to list a defined budget range on any public job posting, including both an upper and lower limit. What, if any, impact do those ranges have on a candidate's expectations around a prospective offer? The results are in! A whopping 70% of respondents prefer to have AT LEAST two formal performance review conversations throughout the year, with a majority preferring a semi-annual cycle. If your company is still operating under the more traditional “one per year” setup, it might be time to make some changes! While some might argue that more is better, you don’t want to overcorrect and risk turning off the 30% of employees who like the current setup. Therefore, consider implementing a hybrid approach where formal reviews occur semi-annually, supplemented by informal check-ins quarterly. This increase in communication should result in a higher rate of goal attainment and overall motivation, which in turn will improve employee satisfaction (and retention) across your team. #poll #growth #careergrowth #review #performancereview #reviews #goals #careergoals #yearendgoals

The results are in! A significant portion (44%) of respondents feel they are behind their professional goals. This highlights a common challenge in goal attainment, potentially due to unrealistic goal-setting, external obstacles, or inadequate resources and support. In contrast, 42% of respondents feel they are either ahead of schedule (9%) or right on pace (33%). This indicates that a substantial minority is effectively managing their goals, suggesting successful strategies, good time management, and efficient resource utilization. The fact that the largest segment feels behind suggests an opportunity for interventions like training on goal-setting, time management, and resource allocation. Organizations might consider workshops or mentorship programs to support employees in meeting their professional objectives. #poll #growth #careergrowth #motivation #goals #careergoals #yearendgoals
