19 en 20 september: AFINet (Addiction and the Family International Network) conferentie online Save the date want er komt een interessante online conferentie aan. En ik ben een van de sprekers :). Donderdagavond 19 september om 19 uur vertel ik over stress van studenten met familieleden met verslavingsproblemen. Welke situaties zorgden voor stress? Hoe ontwikkelde hun stress zich gedurende de onderzoeksperiode van drie jaar? Wat zorgde ervoor dat stress ging stijgen of juist afnam? Waarom is dat belangrijk? Chronische stress is slecht voor je gezondheid en kan zelfs zorgen voor versnelde veroudering. Ook heeft chronische stress negatieve invloed op studiesucces. Alle reden dus om het thema stress eens goed onder de loep te nemen. Hopelijk tot dan!

Peter Shilton is not only a football legend with an illustrious career. In his personal life, he faced a challenge with a 45-year gambling addiction, which he began to overcome with the support of his wife, Steph. Steph Shilton contributes her vast 27-year experience in the NHS and her expertise as a therapist to combat gambling addiction. Working with a leading charity, she has been pivotal in developing support services for those affected by gambling issues. Together, Peter and Steph have championed legislative changes and have contributed extensively to reducing gambling harms, making significant strides in awareness and support mechanisms for young people.
