To truly support and drive innovation, we need more than enthusiasm—it takes real financial commitment. Change only happens when we’re willing to put the necessary resources behind bold ideas, even if it means taking a risk. That’s the only way forward. #aspawbunga2024 Fadilah Tchoumba

Finally, I'm back!! Two years ago, I took a break from posting here to find myself and sort through some big questions. Though I often thought about returning, I kept waiting to feel "ready." During my time away, I found a deep passion for fashion, which led me to make a major shift from studying law at Olabisi Onabanjo University(O.O.U) to diving into fashion and entrepreneurship and I took the bold step of dropping out of OOU in my second year of law studies. To pursue this newly found calling, unconventionally, I'd say, I furthered my education in Entrepreneurial Leadership at the African Leadership University, Rwanda and I'm currently in my second year of studies. Here are some highlights from my journey so far: * I gained my first internship experience at Bunmi Adelabu & Co Law Firm Abeokuta in 2022. * In 2022, I joined the Junior Chamber International, OOU and was appointed as the team lead for the Waste to Art Project after a brief chat with the then Local President, Christiana Boluwatife Fagbenro at the Kuta Art Foundation, Abeokuta. * After joining the M19 Foundation in early 2022, I actively volunteered in many of its projects. * In 2023, I participated in the Hult Prize competition locally at OOU, led my team in pitching our sustainable fashion brand idea, and won first runner-up. * In my first year at The African Leadership University, I led my team to victory as the first runner-up in the E-Lab Challenge, and discovered my aptitude for digital marketing. * In 2023 I volunteered with the Toyali Club ALU to pay a visit to the Mahama refugee camp, in Rwanda. * In 2023, I volunteered to assist the CEO of A&M Fashion, Rwanda in organising the first edition of its Utopia Fashion Show, gaining experience in training models and setting up runways and exhibition centres. * In December 2023, I volunteered at the UNLEASH Innovation Lab, Rwanda, helping to ensure the event ran smoothly. * I volunteered as an Interview Assistant and Content Creator at the Africa Soft Power Summit this year. * I interned at Villa Kigali, Rwanda as a marketing intern. * I gained 14 certifications. * I assisted in starting the SCA ALU club, a She Code Africa chapter in my school. * I participated in the ALX Venture Founders Academy Programme. I’m grateful for every experience that’s shaped me and led me to my passion for sustainable fashion. Let's reconnect! Feel free to drop a comment or send me a message. I'm eager to catch up and explore new possibilities. Here's to new beginnings and future successes!

Did you know that when Mansa Musa came to power, he inherited a thriving kingdom? What set him apart was his drive to go even further. He brought in architects from across Africa and the Middle East to design stunning new buildings, transforming Mali into a sophisticated center of learning in the Islamic world. His efforts expanded trade routes and made Mali the wealthiest kingdom in Africa, with resources like elephant ivory enhancing the country's prosperity. Mansa Musa’s story inspires us to dream big and act boldly. His legacy is a powerful reminder of how visionary leadership can impact a country and the world at large. What other lessons can we draw from his incredible life? #mansamusa #didyouknow
