Today an estimated 42 million Americans are aged 60 and older, and their numbers are growing steadily. The United States Department of Health and Human Services reports that America now has the second largest population of older people in the world. 📢 Over the next 20 years, California’s over-65 population will nearly double, with those 85+ being the fastest growing demographic. While this shift will introduce new opportunities for economic and community growth, it will also lead to an increased demand for health and support services. In January 2022 @TheSCANFndtn provided financial support to @agencyonaging4 to focus on developing a regional Master Plan for Aging for #YubaSutter counties that will address the unique challenges of aging in a rural community. An ADRC is a network of organizations that work together to make access to services easier for older adults, people with disabilities, and family care providers. They are here to support you in finding resources and exploring your community options for living independently. They can help you stay in your home, remain connected to your community, make a smooth transition from hospital to home, and access caregiver resources or respite care.
