Last week, we were honored to host five inspiring startup teams for our September pitch event: FreezeNit, PlugOp, Golden Home Management, BEMY and Station. FreezeNit Inc., led by Joanna Shu & Carole Spangler Vaughn, PhD, MBA, is developing a medical device that kills head lice and nits through a combination of cold therapy and CO2 gas in a single treatment. This technology eliminates head lice and nits by freezing and asphyxiating them simultaneously, without the need for messy creams, harmful pesticides, or prescription treatments.   PlugOp Technologies, led by Cory Miller, aims to provide charging solutions for electric vehicle (EV) owners in multi-family housing through smart power distribution software, which helps to reduce electrical infrastructure costs. PlugOp's EVSE software solutions allow property managers to lower total project costs by 40% while still providing a high-quality charging experience.   Golden Home Management, led by Evan Ransome, is a Home Concierge business bringing Hospitality to the Home Services Industry. They give homeowners one relationship to manage both ongoing maintenance and fixes or renovations.    BEMY Cosmetics, Inc., led by Ted Schwarz, is revolutionizing skin care by creating a personalized cream using customers' biopsies to address skin care needs such as skin rejuvenation. The patented technology addresses the root cause of human's aging skin.   Station, led by Campbell Pritchard, is developing a community engagement platform that helps podcast hosts understand listener demographics while boosting engagement and advertisement monetization. Realplay Sports, led by Justin Real, solves the critical issue of underutilization in the sports broadcasting space by transforming passive content into engaging, personalized experiences. Jeeva Care (MyJEEVA), an innovative platform founded by Dr. Ajith Nair and led by Mr. Paul Peissner, minimizes hospital readmissions by seamlessly connecting clinical teams with patients and caregivers. This approach allows for proactive interventions and personalized care plans, significantly improving patient outcomes. The Luupe, led by Keren Sachs and Ashley Patterson, is a global creative marketplace where brands and top photo and video production professionals connect and create. Direct Kinetic Solutions, led by Ekhi Muniategui, develops and manufactures radioisotopic power sources focused on safety, reliability, and long-term predictability in a compact form factor. Ink'd Greetings, led by Andrew Ekmark and Sammi Ekmark, has developed an in-store automated kiosk that enables customers to quickly select greeting cards, personalize the inside, and print on demand with embedded gift cards. M&S Biotics, led by Joshua Mecca, developed an autonomous IoT device (FDA 510k Cleared) to detect, track, count, and locate surgical items within the operating room in real time. This effectively automates the surgical counting process while providing downstream analytics regarding instrument utilization. Dimien, led by Doug Buerkle and Brian Schultz, PhD, is a lithium-ion battery company commercializing cathode material developed in collaboration with researchers at Texas A&M.
