Late Summer Project Idea? ☀️ Build an Autonomous Vehicle with WayWise! 😎 Happy to share that our article, "WayWise: A Rapid Prototyping Library for Connected, Autonomous Vehicles," co-authored with Rickard Häll and Aria Mirzai has been published in Software Impacts and is available as open access: https://lnkd.in/dDRpB78q Developed by the Dependable Transport Systems unit of RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, WayWise is a C++ and Qt-based library designed to accelerate the development of autonomous vehicles and drones. It has been field-tested across a variety of Swedish national and EU project prototypes—from simulations and small-scale models to full-sized machinery—and is actively used in the AGRARSENSE Chips JU Project and CCAM SUNRISE project. WayWise was developed using research funding from European Commission, Chips Joint Undertaking and Vinnova. 🌴 Happy to share my experience at FSE 2024 conference in Porto de Galinhas, Brazil! It was a week full of interesting talks, discussions, and networking with active researchers in software engineering. 🤝 My colleague Ranim Khojah and I presented our recent research on the usage of chatbots in software engineering that we did together with Philipp Leitner and Francisco Gomes Oliveira Neto. The work was done in collaboration between Chalmers University of Technology and RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, and was supported by The Safety for AI project and AGRARSENSE Chips JU Project. 🤖 The paper explores how software engineers of different roles use LLM-powered chatbots in practice and how it affects their productivity. We found that while LLMs are mostly used for code-related tasks, they are more useful for learning new concepts and brainstorming. We also provide scenarios where using LLMs might negatively impact productivity. 📄 The paper is available at: https://lnkd.in/dWK8WhAT

#Netsens installations continue in the AGRARSENSE Chips JU Project! On Thursday 27 June, a Netsens weather station was installed at a pumping station, near a wastewater treatment plant of the Consorzio Bonifica Capitanata, in the province of Foggia. This installation is placed in the context of the Water Smart Management of the project and will be integrated into the existing network of the Consortium. Once again, thanks to #Sysman for the precious support!
