Thanks to all who joined us in-person and virtually for our first Emerging Tech Symposium! This half-day event delved into one of the most transformative topics in architecture today: artificial intelligence (AI) as we were inspired and enlightened by local and international experts: Des Fagan of Lancaster University, Sara Codarin and Karl Daubmann from Lawrence Technological University, Heather Ferrell, Jessica Pearson, AIA, MBA, Brian Payne, Dolly Haardt, LEED AP, and Argelia Barcena. Watch for updates and join us as we continue the conversation and launch new initiatives to keep our members engaged with technological innovations in design.

As President of AIA Triangle, I’m thrilled to have our first Emerging Technology Symposium on September 26th! This event is a deep dive into how AI and other emerging technologies are impacting architecture—it’s a can’t-miss opportunity to stay ahead of the curve in our industry. AI presents both incredible opportunities and real challenges for our profession, from ethical concerns and its environmental impact, to improving workflow efficiencies and visuals. I’m optimistic about its future in architecture, and by embracing these technologies thoughtfully, we can unlock new possibilities in design, sustainability, and efficiency. I’m especially excited to see how this symposium—and future events like it—help us stay educated and engaged with the latest industry trends. It’s so important that we continue to push the boundaries and keep our community connected as technology evolves. We'll have presentations from tech leaders in our industry, and an amazing local panel to discuss how technology is being harnessed in the Triangle right now. We'll even hear from AIA San Francisco on similar programs they are offering to their members to stay ahead of the technology curve. Whether you're joining us in person or virtually, I look forward to seeing you there and sharing in these important conversations about the future of architecture! Let’s shape it together!
