  • This past week has been difficult for all of us. We have all been impacted by the devastation that Hurricane Helene created as she swept through our neighborhoods. Yet, the resilience our community has demonstrated in coming together to help one another and provide resources to anyone who may need help has been amazing. It’s one of the many reasons we love our community!

  • While the days have been long for many, we are extremely grateful for the linesmen and crews working tirelessly around the clock to bring light back to our homes, streets and businesses. And while Dominion Energy workers are away from their families as they continue to work to rebuild infrastructure throughout our communities, they have been extremely thoughtful in providing meals to our frontline staff. We are truly grateful to Dominion Energy and their team members’ dedication to supporting and restoring the community that Aiken Regional serves.

  • According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, "Each year, approximately 36,000 people are treated in hospital emergency departments for injuries from using chain saws." And that potential risk of injury increases after hurricanes and other natural disasters. As many continue to clean up downed trees, we want to ensure you are taking all safety precautions when operating. • Wear proper protective clothing, eyewear, hearing protection, work gloves when using. • Check the area for possible hazards like nails or cables, both inside the wood itself or laying around. • Always cut at waist level. • Ensure others are at least 2 tree lengths (150 feet) away from anyone cutting a tree and at least 30 feet from anyone operating a chain saw. Thank YOU! Our hearts are heavy and go out to all who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene.

  • As we continue to navigate the aftermath of Hurricane Helene alongside our community, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Cancer Survivors Day, originally scheduled for this Friday, October 4. We appreciate your understanding in this decision and look forward to celebrating with you during next year’s event. Our hearts go out to those whose lives have been impacted by this devastating storm.

Aiken Regional Medical Centers and ER at Sweetwater remain open for emergency care. Due to the inclement weather, power outages and hazardous road conditions that our area has experienced, our outpatient services and Aiken Physicians Alliance offices are closed today. We have partnered with the City of Aiken, Aiken County and Dominion Energy to restore full service. To ensure the safety of our community members and those working hard to assist with the damage, we encourage all to follow the guidance of local officials and remain off of the roads unless absolutely necessary. The safety of our patients, guests, staff and community remains our top priority. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
