Technically, yesterday was Hire a Veteran Day. But since hiring veterans is an ongoing priority at AFCS, we thought we’d use the day after to remind you that to us, every day is Hire a Veteran Day. After all, we have the privilege of working shoulder-to-shoulder with active-duty military every day of the week. We are also quick to welcome them into the private sector with jobs when they separate from the military. After all, when you list all the qualities you look for in an employee: technical skills and training, work ethic and integrity, adaptability and resilience, teamwork and leadership; these are the attributes instilled into a veteran from day one. Which is why, we whole heartedly endorse hiring veterans on Hire a Veteran day and every day after.

The United States maintains the most capable nuclear deterrence on the planet. In fact, the only thing nearly as formidable is the brainpower that makes it possible: Men and women like you, both civilian and active duty, who make our adversaries think twice about threatening the U.S., its allies, and interests. It’s an awesome responsibility. One that falls on the shoulders of the personnel, both civilian and active duty of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC). AFNWC oversees testing, modernizing, and sustaining every nuclear weapon in the Air Force’s arsenal. Its mission is vital to the nation’s security, requiring engineers with impeccable ability and integrity. The only thing greater than the responsibility is the opportunity it presents. If you’re up to the challenge, the deadline to submit applications is Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. CT
