Jan. 11 was a special day for our WellSpan WellFlight team in Gettysburg, PA who reconnected with former patient Kyler Hoover and his family. Kyle was struck by another vehicle while riding his motorcycle in March 2024. Due to the severity of his injuries, including a severed femoral artery, he required emergency blood transfusions both at the scene and during transport. WellFlight’s response and ability to carry and administer blood were crucial in saving Kyle’s life. Thanks to his incredible strength and the care he received, Kyle has made an amazing recovery. We're deeply grateful that Kyle and his family took the time to visit and express their thanks. It’s moments like these that remind us of the importance of what we do. Elevating Critical Care
About us
Quality emergency care doesn’t begin in the hospital emergency room – it begins at the scene of the accident or the moment a life-threatening illness strikes. Air Methods has a talented workforce of over 4,500 team members, which includes the best in the air medical industry. We are pilots, clinicians, mechanics, air communications specialists, support teams and many more. We’re ready to answer the call because we know someone’s life is on the line. We dedicate ourselves around the clock to maintain equipment and supplies, coordinate logistics and relentlessly provide the tools and expertise that allow us to give more tomorrows. From the front lines to the phone lines, we believe our status as the industry leader – and the importance we place on our mission statement and core values – allow us to attract the highest level of talented professionals. More than 20% of our team members are U.S. veterans, active duty or in the reserves. Our comprehensive aviation, clinical and maintenance training is as robust as it is intense. And our continuous curriculum of learning and simulation-based training is unmatched in the industry. We are ready to save lives at every moment of every day, with over 300 bases of operations serving 48 states. In rural communities, that kind of reach of care is crucial. Emergency air medical transport and treatment is often the only access to lifesaving emergency care they have – providing access to millions of people who otherwise would not have been able to make it to a trauma center. We also operate eight maintenance centers of excellence throughout the nation and a national communications center. Although we call Greenwood Village, Colorado, home, we are only a call away.

This month, we saluted the retirement of our long-time pilots Marion “Buggs” Drake and Keith Marshall. Buggs served at our Life Net 81 base in Hagerstown, MD, and Keith served at our Life Saver 4 Sylacauga Alabama. Flying thousands of patients over the years, each represented a life positively impacted. The legacy of these two pilots will forever be imprinted on the communities they served. Congrats to both and we wish them the best in their next chapter.

We want to pause a moment and express that our hearts go out to all those affected by the devastating California fires. We're incredibly grateful that our dedicated teammates are safe, but we know many others are facing unimaginable challenges. To our brave first responders and firefighters on the front lines, thank you for your tireless efforts. 🙏

Did you know that someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds? Air Methods works with local blood blanks across the country to ensure our community-based programs are stocked with this lifesaving resource. As we honor Blood Donor Month, we're reminded of the countless patients we've transported who relied on blood donations to survive. Your donation can be the lifeline someone desperately needs. Be a hero - donate blood and help us continue saving lives! 💉❤️ 📽️ WellSpan WellFlight's recent blood drive in Lebanon, PA

Snow in the Southeast? Looks like our crews might need to trade their sunglasses for snow goggles! Don't worry, we're still ready to fly and provide care, even if we have to land on a giant snowball. 😉❄️🚁 #SnowDay #HEMS #EmergencyCare 📷 SouthFlight in Semmes, AL 📷 Florida crews having fun, too! 😎

As we embark on a milestone year, we reflect on the thousands of lives we've positively impacted and the strong relationships we've built along the way. Founded 45 years ago by visionary Roy Morgan, whose personal experience inspired him to provide communities with properly equipped and staffed air medical service helicopters, we’ve carried forward his unwavering commitment to safety and exceptional patient care. Today, we hold those same values close and are always ready to respond when it matters most. Here’s to continuing to provide the safest, best lifesaving care in the nation! It’s always special when a family gets to visit the base where their loved one serves. It's an opportunity to see the inner workings of the 'office,' a home away from home, and to meet teammates who are like an extended family. Our flight crews can do the incredible work they do because of the unwavering love and support from their families and friends. Thank you, Spiker family, for stopping by our Native Air 22 base in Williams, AZ. Join our home away from home: bit.ly/CareersAtAirMethods
