How many of us have a pet sitting by us at this very moment?! 🙋🏻♀️ 🐾 Pets play a HUGE part of our lives, and as Suzy Welch points out, leaving our pet family members is tough! While not everyone can (or should) bring their pets to work 🐱 🐍 🐇 🐢 🐶 🐹, our pet family members do deserve care like any other family member. And on the topic of Return to Office, Separation Anxiety is something our Airvet vets help clients with on the daily!

I have no research to prove it, but I’m going out on a limb to say the #1 reason people hate return-to-work orders like the one just issued by Amazon (and covered by LinkedIn News), can be summed up in one word. https://lnkd.in/egeWh_xi Dogs. Everyone got a dog during the pandemic, and/or they discovered the joys of dog companionship at home. Saying farewell to that life, to that relationship, is breaking their hearts. Sorry not sorry, but only a grinch would not get that. As a boss, however, I also get the enormous benefits of everyone in the same room, at the same time. Could the solution be any more obvious? Let people bring their dogs to work, and accommodate them, with dog parks, onsite dog daycare, and flexibility around dog-walking breaks. For the success of such a fix you need only look as far as The Humane Society of the United States, where I serve on the board. Years ago, they instituted a policy to allow well-behaved, supervised dogs at the office. It’s obviously great for the dogs, CEO Kitty Block told me. But, she added, “During a tense meeting or a difficult moment, the empathetic presence of a dog can make connections easier and serve as a breath of fresh air.” TL;DR: Bring on the dogs. As management edicts go, it’s certainly cheaper and easier than replacing good people who want to work in the office, but just can’t say goodbye to the one thing keeping them sane. Oh wait, maybe that’s just me? Raise your paws if you like this plan. I would vote first, but Pierre is in the way.

We had a paw-some time at Shutterfly's open enrollment event! Some of our favorite moments were checking out all of the contestants in the pet photo contest and when an employee told Lauren Eager, “How have I not heard of this? You may have just saved me a fortune with all the questions I have, we have 2 French bulldogs they’re always going to the vet for no reason!” We love frenchies! 💙 🐶 Interested in learning more about Airvet?
