Taking care of a little one is a beautiful journey, but let’s not forget the most important part: YOU! Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s essential. When you nurture yourself, you’re better equipped to nurture your baby. Whether it’s taking a moment for a warm cup of tea, enjoying a few pages of a good book, or simply taking a deep breath—these moments recharge you. And remember, the recent extension of Medicaid postpartum coverage is a game-changer! This support means more resources for your physical and mental health during this crucial time. Take advantage of it to prioritize your well-being! A happy mama = a happy baby! THE GREAT PRETENDER | Did you know that syphilis can be in your body, and you can have no visible symptoms? Syphilis is often called “the great pretender” because you can either have symptoms that look and feel like something else, like a fever – or have no symptoms at all. Even if you don’t have symptoms, you can still spread syphilis to your partners or your baby if you become pregnant. This is why everyone who is sexually active should get tested for syphilis at least once this year. Getting tested is easy at Alaska’s Public Health Centers. Call or visit your local public health center or Title X clinic today! 🏙 In Anchorage? Visit: https://lnkd.in/ejZHUZhJ 🗺 Outside of Anchorage?
