On this day 17 years ago, Drs Soda, Mano, et al, published an article in Nature that changed the fate of hundreds of thousands of people with a very specific type of lung cancer: ALK-positive. It's why we think of today as #WorldALKLungCancerDay. The discovery of ALK-driven lung cancer set the stage for the development of multiple generations of ALK targeted therapies which have transformed the lives of those in our community. We honor this life-changing discovery, many related discoveries since and the work of brilliant researchers by supporting and advocating for more research.
