With the energy transition coming up to speed, more experts with detailed knowledge are needed in the area of high voltage testing and engineering. Our mission is to provide knowledge and tools with the aim to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of personell in this branche. For this purpose we develop e-learnings in different areas of expertise. They are based on a scientific information as much as possible. However, not all wisdom can be found in books! Therefore we hope to teach you from our experience too. All Electron is owned and supported by technical experts who have experience in working at (and for) transmission system operators, consultancy firms and testing laboratories. High resistivity soils, typically in a rocky terrain, can make it difficult to have a low earthing resistance in substations. The referenced article proposes a rigorous way to reduce the earthing resistance in the following steps: 1. drill holes, 2. make cracks in the ground by using explosives in the holes, 3. fill the holes and crevices with a low resistivity material (LRM).
