It is finally here! 📖 My manuscript, “Taking the Plunge into Self-Employment: How to Successfully Prepare to Leave Your Nine-to-Five For Full-Time Self-Employment and Beyond,” is officially available for pre-order here: https://a.co/d/gJ6KHIR The official publication date is June 6th. I chose this date because it’s my self-employment anniversary date. June 6, 2018, was the first day I was officially a full-time, self-employed person. In a nutshell, this is the book I needed when I decided to quit my 9-5 job in 2018. I also want to be clear that this was way before the pandemic and, as a consequence, pre-dates the ‘Great Resignation,’ which was fueled by a mix of massive layoffs across industries and people experiencing an awakening about their work/life balance, or lack thereof. I always knew that I wanted to own a business; however, the plan was always to climb the corporate ladder first and become a VP of Marketing by 30. Yeah, that didn’t happen. I became a Corporate Drop Out in June 2018 at 27 years old. And there was no roadmap to follow. There weren’t even crossroads because they hadn’t built the roads yet. I stumbled my way through my first year of self-employment. I made so many mistakes, from getting unnecessary business classifications to not having cancellation clauses in my contracts and losing money. I share it all! The book is divided into four sections: The Preparation, The INTRApreneur, The Plunge, and The Pivot. Each has five chapters. ‘The Preparation’ covers topics like mindset, building meaningful connections, and starting a dream fund (I saved for two years before taking the plunge). ‘The INTRApreneur’ focuses on how you can make your 9-5 work for you while you prepare to take the plunge. ‘The Plunge’ covers the crucial skill sets and tactics learned during my first two years of self-employment, from taking the lead to building influential relationships and sales knowledge. ‘The Pivot’ covers scaling and growing your business, such as knowing when to pivot and understanding seasonality. This book is for anyone willing to bet on themselves, from aspiring entrepreneurs and INTRApreneurs to good troublemakers and future corporate dropouts! I can't wait to hear your stories as you implement these proven strategies and tactics in your journeys! #publishedauthor #selfemployment #selfemployedlife #successmindset #personaldevelopment

I'm excited to announce that I am co-hosting a webinar with Hive—one of the leading project management tools designed for teams managing large-scale projects—on October 10th at noon Eastern Standard Time. In my experience as a Workflow Consultant, universities tend to house multiple department units “working” together to achieve the common goals of elevating the university's reputation and increasing enrollment. I place quotations around the word working because this comes with many challenges: cross-team collaboration, cross-departmental collaboration, and project intake/tracking, to name a few. I'm excited to share ways to combat these challenges with actionable workflow best practices. It’s free to register, and you do not have to be a HIVE customer to attend. You can register here: https://lnkd.in/gFCwWZ3t If you can’t make the webinar, I would still love to connect on ways I can assist in developing more streamlined processes for your team(s) at your organization; feel free to message me directly!
